I love the idea of these custom laptops, they look surprisingly better than I thought they would :D , but I just wish they were slightly more competetive to Dells, not that there is a huge margin.. just enough to make me (a poor student) lean more towards a Dell.

Not getting the laptop for a while yet (waiting on my loan, most of which is for rent and food) but I hope you keep building on the selection of parts so I'm tempted :)

How are they not as competitive as dell? they offer way more performance than any dell laptop at the same price range for a lot less money. e.g. a dell flavoured breeze block with a cr*ppy 8700m gt, ddr2 memory and an old 2.4ghz processor will set you back £1,399.00.
The ultima mobile has almost twice the ram speed, the latest processor and almost twice the graphics power for around £1000.

i really like the idea of these and when its time for an upgrade from my macbook pro i will be looking at one as be nice to have my games and stuff all in one laptop

and i hope the specs will be up as at the mo there is no improvement on what i have other than a bit more gfx mem

Laptops are all sorted. We've checked all the remaining stock which is 100% AOK so good to go.

We'll get more pics on Monday and start doing some reviews but unfortunately I was about 3 hours late for work today so with the meeting as well it kind of killed all my time :( I'll also get all the questions answered everyones posted throughout as I've now got all the answers from the Taiwanese :)

ninja2000: Tried to call you but didn't manage to get through. Unfortunately City Link close around the same time. One of my colleagues will call you tomorrow to sort this out. Apologies for the problem but we will get it sorted out for you ASAP.

Slackworth, will our fixed/replacement laptops get back to us by Friday of next week, do you think? It'd be a bit of a bummer if they're not (for me at least!).

Thanks a lot Slackworth, I will look forward to the call.

I am guessing you will just get city link to collect it so I have boxed it back up ready. But if it is easier I will happily switch over the gfx card.
And as per Chapple I really need this turned around by Friday if possible as I am away on holiday next week.

Oh and for the people interested in the ultima Mobile, I cant do pics at the moment but I can answer any questions. and initial impressions so far minus the 9800gts:
1. Build quality - very high, it feels incredibly sturdy. Much more so than my previous XPS.
2. Noise - Wow! for a gaming laptop it is very quiet. it is almost silent at idle.
3. Package - the laptop came well packaged with driver CD and manual.

I ain't talkin about the high end laptops, which probably are better value. What I mean is a around the 400-450 quid mark, as I ain't gonna be using it for anything else than uni work. :)

Cheers for the info Ninja, I put mine straight back in the box tbh, ready for CityLink on Monday.

Good to hear that the quality is high, not that I expected otherwise :). Love the design/shape of the chassis, nice and sturdy.

Sorry guys, it got packed back up as it is being collected by citylink.
As soon as the replacement comes I will be taking pics and writing a review

Do they have matte screens ?

I'm having terrible trouble finding a laptop with a matte screen, and a decent graphics card, that would be able to play games, so I'd be very interested if they had matte screens. I am particularly interested in the Primo one, as it suits my budget.

Thanks
