Spec and 3DMark results in sig

Will post some pictures tomorrow if none posted by OCUk

Laptop Looks really nice is reasonably quiet Screen seems good no dead pixels and reasonably bright, however I have one concern Hard drive temp Idle 50C peak 64C.

Idle readings from Hardware monitor

ACPI 43C

Core 2 Dou
Core 1 29C
Core 2 29C

GPU 42C

WD3200BEKT 50C

Any questions please ask I will try and answer later this afternoon.

PS Vista64 seem's snappy with the 4Gb.

:D

Ouch 64c is high! There is a lot of talk on various foums regarding high HD temperature.

One thing that has helped a few users is updating the intel matrix storage drivers to the latest version.

Edit - and from looking at your 06 scores it seems the gts is only about 300-400 points slower than the GT :)

Just had mine delivered and im quite impressed/confused in equal measure.

First off i only had one box delivered which is confusing as i had ordered speakers/printer/usb stick as well as laptop.

Upon opening the box imagine my suprise to find more boxes inside. One containing 2x2Gb Crucial SODIMM's. One containing C2Duo T8100. One containing 320Gb Fujitsu HD. One containing the Laptop itself and a copy of Vista x64.

Oh i thought im going to have to build this myself. I wasnt expecting that but hey it will brighten up my otherwise dull day :)

Opening the box with the laptop just confused me even MORE! I now have another copy of Vista x64 in here along with the laptop and all associated bits and pieces. So flip the laptop over and begin removing the backplates to install my new hardware. But oh noes i cant! It already has a processor/memory/HDD installed

So in with the power cord and on with the power button and windows boots first time straight away. Check the specs to see if everything is as it should be and all is well.

So i now have my laptop plus

1x C2Duo T8100
2x 2GB Crucial DDR2 5700
1x Fujitsu 320Gb HDD
1x Vista x64

As for the unit itself its very quiet and a nice sleek design. Feels a bit plasticky on the back panel and the Mail/Browser and Fan Profile buttons feel a bit flimsy but the rest of the unit has a nice solid feel to it. Screen has no dead pixels is quite bright and a nice matt finish to it too. My only other gripe was that there were a few drivers not installed for the wireless and card reader modules but the handy driver cd supplied with the unit soon sorted that out :)

Overall very impressed with it especially considering the price!

Can Slackworth or RTB let me know what you want me to do about all the xtra hardware you guys sent me ;)

here a question u know those all new mobile cpus p8400/8600 t9300/9400 and etc.. will there be any problems running them on ddr2 ram ?

As far as I know, the Intel CPUs really don't care wether DDR2 or DDR3 is used. It's down to the motherboard in the laptop, which most certainly does.
Unlike recent AMD CPUs, which have the memory controller on-chip, the intel chips iirc have them as part of the northbridge, which is on the motherboard. So they should in theory be independent of memory architecture to some extent.

But of course, always read the specs. :)

Ok installed the updated 8.5 driver for Intel Matrix storage and sure enough Temps for hardrive have now dropped!

Idle 46C down from 50C
Peak 56C down from 64C

dont know why? but thanks Ninja

Oh by the way had to adjust the Power Options to performance to get the 29,267 in 3D Mark 2003 it was 13,500ish using Balanced which is 8600M GT DDR3 level.

np, glad to be able to help.

I always used to have to set to performance in vista too. But I have decided to go back to xp for the time being

Hi, I've ordered one of these laptops but I go to university on the 19th. I believe I ordered it on the 2nd, would just like to make sure if I will receive it in time??

We are working on it. :)

That's good to hear :) Do you know if it will be in this month as I need to replace my laptop this month and I need a good processing laptop. The cpu is the deciding factor. I recieved a 10% off voucher in my inbox this morning, but it runs out at the end of the month.

Mine's just arrived, all fixed with correct GPU and Windows XP :).

Cheers for getting that turned around so quickly chaps!

If you call the sales line to order, the guys will sort this out for you.

Just called to try and arrange this but the salesperson wouldn't let me order, saying that they do not allow telephone orders to collect. Apparently I have to either order in person at the shop and then go back a couple of days later to collect it, or pay for delivery via a web order.

If possible, add [email protected] to your MSN and he will give you a call and sort an order out.

If you do not use MSN, then call the sales team back and if you get any problems tell them to speak to Adam in Purchasing and that it is fine to take the order.

On another note, sorry for the delay in getting pictures/specs/answers to questions. We've just been busy getting the laptops out amongst other things but will be done in the next day or two without fail.

Just found these laptops, after a few weeks of looking.

You mention that you're busy building them just now - Do you have stock available for build just now, or are they all pre-ordered already?

I'm looking to buy one, but if would prefer the P9500 CPU, so if there aren't any available just now, then I'll wait to see if you get this CPU as an option before more stock arrives.
