You can use it for your Windows login and your Internet explorer passwords. Sadly, for some reason, I can't use it with Mozilla Firefox.
 
i have set it for the windows login but it comes of with a fake logon next to my logon saying scan your finger to login and i just want it so its just my logon
 
This might seem like a specific question but how is the *sound* in these Ultima laptops? Most laptops have tinny rubbish but a few laptops have a more extended speaker system and have at least passable speakers, for example some of the excessive HP laptops have the '5 speaker' system that uses a 'sub -read larger speaker' but for mobile sound they're pretty passable.

Hi all,

Good see the laptops are going down well. Demand has been fantastic - to the point that we've not had the time that we'd have liked to get the specs & benchmarks posted...but we will in time.

There's loads to come, more CPUs, res choices, graphics, extra batteries etc..

Keep an eye on Slackworths Q&A in another thread as well.

Cheers to those that have bought so far. Be assured OcUK are reading what you write and are taking action where we can/its commercially sensible.

I take it the 9300M GS 256MB is faster than the 8600M GT 256mb in the XPS range?

Anyone know by what margin?

May opt for Primo Mobile - 15.4" WXGA Laptop if this is the case!
 
ninja or basically anyone else who installed Vistax64 on their Ultima did you install all the drivers of disk and were they fine?
 
Sorry V1bes mine came pre installed with Vista 64.

However OCuk appear to have used the drivers of the disk having had a quick look at Device manager and drivers tab for various bits and pieces of hardware, I have since been to the Clevo website and downloaded the 176.02drivers for the 9800Gt which also install and work fine for the 9800GTS.

I have installed a number of OS's on my laptop to test. So far all drivers worked from the CD but with the OS I stuck with I downloaded all the latest drivers from the correct site
Intel/Clevo/Realtek etc.

What drivers are you struggling with?

REDNINEAPB - how are you finding the stock clevo drivers? I have settled with 177.92 with physix. great performance and no problems yet but I am currently back with XP because of the HD temps and disk thrashing that Vista causes. I will go back to vista 64 when i get a SSD

I'm on Vista 64 Ultimate. Used the CD drivers only to begin with and it all worked okey dokey.
 
I am having no problems with drivers, installed all of the cd bar graphic drivers which i assume i cam download of the nvidea site regardless of having a laptop card?
 
Hi Ninja the stock drivers all seem fine. would like to install 177.92 with physx however cant be bothered with messing about with whql de-activation. :cool:

V1bez not sure you will get drivers from Nvidia.com try downloads on Clevo.com or if willing to mess around a bit you could try the drivers from laptopvideos2go.com....

It's not hard to do from laptopvideos2go.com i did it before on xp, just i didn't like having to mess around with files.

I guess i'll just go for the clevo ones then cheers.

No, the 9300 is a lot slower than the 8600. The 9300 is about the same as the 8400. The 8600 compares to the 9650.

Thanks for clearing that up for me :)

I'd love to get the OCuK custom laptop as its upgradable, good build quality, case style I like but with my budget there are faster higher spec'd machines on the market............damn it....

Oh by the way had to adjust the Power Options to performance to get the 29,267 in 3D Mark 2003 it was 13,500ish using Balanced which is 8600M GT DDR3 level. :cool:

Hello mate, any specific one do i need to work with the laptop? I want to get the hd temp down abit, increased a fair bit with vista 64 on.
