Well, i've been using it for a day now, so here are some thoughts.
Laptop boot time I would say is average. Took 45 seconds to reach the WinXP login, and that includes the time it took to choose WinXP from the boot menu (dual booting Ubuntu and XP at the moment)
I've tried to get both 3D mark05 and 06 running without success. Battle at proxycon runs, but the program cuts out in the next segment.
I'm installing C&C generals right now, I'll mention how that works soon as an indicator of performance. Like the other poster said though, HD video runs fine, so I imagine that this really isn't a gaming performance notebook.
Weight is a little over 2kg i believe, don't have any way of testing this out properly, as the only scales we have are bathroom ones, and so not very accurate for tasks such as this.
Heat isn't much of an issue in general notebook use. Browsing the net/watching video is quite cool, and it only starts to get too warm when the DVD is spinning/general high CPU use. Basic temp gets to 79C when it is at full pelt, but I've brought it down to about 65C using undervolting.
Battery is a little disappointing, but then it is a 4 cell, where as I would imagine a 6 cell/9 cell would really help in bringing the life up. Haven't tested it out properly so far yet though.
Typing is comfortable when at a desk, and although this is my first laptop, I have used a few others and this seems good to me. Making a few mistakes here and there, but I'm slowly getting better at it!
Screen is very bright at maximum, and so usually I'm using it on level 2 brightness, out of about 7/8.
DVD drive spins quite loudly however, so I would recommend using headphones if watching a DVD.
Considering the price, aesthetic and general overall quality, I'd give this notebook a 8/10. Its biggest let downs are the lack of physical volume control, slightly small arrow keys, and small standard battery. But very good for the price, considering a Dell XPS1330 is £700 for lower spec, whilst this is £569!
Hopefully in the future i'll upgrade the 250GB HDD in this to a SSD, and then I would imagine it would get even better.
Pictures didn't turn out too well, i'll try and get some better ones, but it is the same laptop as was posted earlier on the German website.
