I've decided that I'm definitely going to go for the Ultima Mobile 15.4". I was tempted by what Dell, Kobalt and Rock had to offer, but the Overclockers deal is by far the best bang for buck option.

Several things have swayed me:

- Matte screen (I have a Dell at work with a reflective screen and it is painful to use, even indoors.)

- Awesome options and good gfx card. Going for: T9600, 4GB DDR3, WD 320GB, Vista Utimate64.

- Good quality chassis (from what others have said).

- 2 year warranty

Just phoned OC and they will have stock towards the end of next week.

The only thing that worries me slightly is the weight. Could someone with one give it a quick weigh (kitchen/bathroom scales or summat...) for us? Ta.

Think I'm gonna go for the Primo Mobile - 15.4". However this is out of stock atm so is there an ETA for when this is likely to be back in stock?

Hi all,

There's a number of new laptops due for delivery. They have left the manufacturers and on their way to us...

Slackworth will update you shortly.

:)

Great, thanks for replying :) I just wanted someone to confirm.
I've ordered my Ultima mobile today. hopefully I won't be waiting too long :D
How do you find the laptop? Any problems?

Only two issues/problems
1. hard drive runs a little warm when using mobile 52-56C butwhen at home on my Zalman Cooler (NC2000) does not exceed 47C playing crysis.;)

Ok dont laugh,

2. The Oem sticker for Vista has been placed by OCuk directly below the hard drive whilst I was in Cyprus (day temp about 32-33c) two Holes have burnt into the windows oem sticker....

Other than that I am really pleased with it, performed on a par with my desktop so sold it.... E4200 @2.7Ghz and 8800GTS 320mb....

Oh except Vista 64bit seem's snappier maybe due to 4gb of mem in laptop compared to 2gb in desktop.:)

Right, I think I'm going to order the Titan Mobile 12" while it's still on offer, but I have a few questions:

Is it really worth getting the P9500 over the T9400 or even the P8600?

If I get it with 4GB of memory will it be worth getting a 64-bit version of Vista with the risk of encountering more problems with drivers and stuff?

Is it worth getting the Intel WiFi Link 5300 over the standard 802.11b/g wireless?

Thanks in advance.

.

I think you'll find that the OEM stickers have 2x holes in them normally with the foil strip going through the holes ;)

Hi Guys,

New to the forums, been looking to pick up a laptop suitable for a bit of gaming, nothing hardcore just WAR and suchlike. There are a few okay branded laptops around however they all seem to have something not suitable like an older gc, WXGA screen res on a 15Inch. I came across the OC Ultimate and it seems to fit the bill in every way, decent graphics card, good build, not loud and WXSGA screen.

Can I just ask what the screen quality is like as not much has been mentioned? Also according to OC's sales people they have no eta for the laptops however in the forums it is implied that they should be arriving this week, can anyone shed any light I am looking for the following spec:
Ultima Mobile - 15.4" WSXGA Laptop
4 Gb Ram
WD Scorpio 7200rpm 320g HD
P9500 CPU

Thanks for any comments.
