Im looking at getting a E6600 for a new build when conroes are out, but does anyone know of good RAM/MB combos that allow good overclocking without being too expensive??

Secondly, if i dont pre-order, is there any chance of me getting one around release?

@Gibbo, are there still plenty of E6600 left? Is it cool to order just the chip and then the week before you get them in to, add the rest of my build to the order and recieve the whole lot together?

[EDIT - going from a 2.2 ghz P4 and g4ti4600, do you think i`ll see a performance increase :D :p ]

Getting a Conroe is you dont preorder... I would say a snow balls chance in hell... I have preordered mine...

I'm also waiting to see what motherboard is the bestest to get... I would say yes to the rest of the build and recieving it all together... I mean if you preorder now and then a couple of days before Conroe go on sale you order the rst of your stuff you should be ok with next day delivery

EDIT: I think that you might notice a little difference ;)

Hi there

Keep the orders coming in as we have order plenty of stock to go round, if all goes to plan we will have over 1000 Intel CPUs arriving towards the end of July to fulfill the demand as Intel are very keen to support us. :)

Would it be possible to cancel a pre-order at a later date if something terrible happened like poor benchmark results? If thats fine, im going to hit the order button now :eek:

yes you can cancel the preorder before its dispatched.

Is that over 1000 E6600 units or over 1000 Core 2 Duo units of all varieties?

Ordered and authorised. Hadnt planned on buying to today but after seeing this thead i couldnt resist!! At least i should be in the first batch of recieved chips (hopefully anyway).
