CoolIT Systems - 240mm ECO info

This sounds like a stonking idea, I'll be watching this with eager anticipation :D
Anything that can tame my overclocked i7 and be a nice self contained unit would be awesome.
I was pondering a full on water setup untill I got to this post and tbh I realy dont relish the thought of putting water near my PC.
Having an i7 @ 4Ghz is nice and all, but its one toasty little sucker

Can see the biggest problem will be fitting the 240mm rad, for the people who would buy this, i.e people that dont have massive cases but fancy a go at a little water cooling, I think will give it a miss because of that.

A better option might be a double 120mm radiator (a really thick chunky rad), that way it would still fit in most peoples cases easy enough, and would look quite a beast with a fan either side of the radiator.
Or two 120mm rads and three fans, would look the buisness for sure.

I have a short but long case, the hiper osiris. a 240mm would fit in the front without issues. I have also been tempted to jump on the presealed h2o gear but yet to be wowed by results.
Ill be watching this thread with interest.

The tubes would have to be quite a bit longer than the H50's to allow mounting at the front - and might be too long for people wanting to mount at the top.
I may have already mentioned this, can't remember, but I'd be a supporter of having two single rads rather than one double rad, as that will significantly increase the number of performance cases that can accommodate it - and will, as hyperst points out, enable you to mount it double-thickness if that's all the case can support. But I'd suggest that people with cases that only have a single 120mm fan grill are perhaps not going to be after extreme cooling and the single-rad Eco/H50 would do them fine if they wanted to spend that much.

Not necessarily. I think most of the restriction is from the length of the thin radiator tubes, which would be the same, but it certainly wouldn't help matters. I could be wrong on the effect on water flow though.

i think they will keep to the standardised 240mm rad folks, it would be too much hassle to change and more importantly costly...

people will just have to do their homework before buying... :)

Yep - should fit in top or the back of a 1200. I'll get some peformance #'s up for you next week and then send out a couple samples to you guys.

Don't know if it is going to fit in the back now, reading about other people fitting the corsair H50 and apparently it has to be on the bottom fan and not the top or it wont fit in the antec 1200, is that true?

Wouldn't the bigger rad need a slightly more powerful pump though?

That is the right thinking... you introduce restricting with the more stuff you add in the loop - rads blocks whatever it may be and restriction reduces your flow rate but our pump is designed to be able to handle our 240 w/ up to two of our ECO blocks or two of our OMNI blocks. So, nope... no new pump needed =)

Plus we take care of all that thinking for you!

I have an antec 1200 i have no desire to go custom cooling but would love to be able to water cool the pc with a dual rad at under £100. If it came in at under £100 and could cool a 4.2ghz 17 920/930 they would fly out the door!

Still sounding good. Nice to know you use good pumps across the range too. I would be very interested in trying one, be that as a tester, reviewer or purchaser once they've reached general availability. However, I am unsure if a 240 mm rad is easy installed in my case - Antec P182SE. It's a beautiful case, so i'm not sure if i'm ready to mutilate it with a dremel yet!

I will certainly keep an eye on this thread non the less. Thanks for the input and insight into your products Barry. It's great to be able to talk to the people working in the companies we buy our high end kit from! Even better that you value our feedback.

I'd be more than happy to review one ^^. My NZXT tempest case can fit 240mm rads. Also btw I finally got my ECO working properly, awesome cooler! Gonna post some results soon.

I have the 182 SE as well :) love it, but the top fan lends itself to modding fairly easily possibly? or the front?
