CoolIT Systems - 240mm ECO info

Yeah think me and you have been looking in the same place Temi :) and unless OcUK get more competitive on the price it's where i will be buying it from as the difference in price is enough for two extra fans for the push pull.

Hey Flanno,

Yep, she'll go in there no problem. really looking forward to seeing your results too as lots of people are playing the waiting game. The tubes on the C240 come off the end of the rad (for you near your hdd bays) and shouldn't be near your side panel fans. <snip>

Thanks mate.
Just 1 other query. I am getting my 240 with the quad fan kit which comes with a pwm adaptor that allows you to run all 4 fans off the motherboards cpu header. Is this safe to do ? I normally use something like the following which takes the stress off the motherboard as the fans are powered by your psu's 4pin molex, but you still maintain pwm control from the cpu fan header. Of course this solution is messier then the ECO one as I would need an additional 2 to 1 pwm splitter to power the 4th fan, which I have.

Any more news on the product? Its only been 2 days but it feels like a lifetime, i wanna finish my build and the only thing left is the cpu cooler, i hope this thing is kick ass and worth the price XD.

Hammer look for reviews of it there is one where they put the c240 up against a custom loop costing $230 and the coolit was only 6degrees behind in performance also nothing but positive things said about it has made my mind up :).

I have just seen this in stock on another website £140?!?!?!?!??! + delivery. Seriously why.
Because?
The screws size for this : 6/32 x 3/8 just in case if you all want to add 2 more fans as a push pull (4 fans together)

The box only come with 2 fans only say coolit Barry on our chat today.
Great thanks, the build i have in mind has a push/pull effort.

Yeah biggest shame about this cooler is obviously none of the retailors here got coolit's "double the rad doesn't mean double the price" because most of them are charging more then double for it. That in itself tells people how good it is because they clearly have tested it and feel it can justify that price still bit hard to swallow.

No huge lump of metal hanging off your motherboard, easier to work in your case no completely not worth it unless those things are important to you which for some of us they are. Being honest to get those pro's and have temps same as high end air coolers will make me happy so horses for courses really ain't it.

Watercooling DIY kit they used was the following so the people who know can say whether it is good or bad.

Radiator – Swiftech MCR-220
Fan –2x Scythe S-Flex 120mm @1600RPM Max
Pump/Reservoir – XSPC X20 750
CPU Block – XSPC Rasa
Coolant – Swiftech Hydrix, Distilled water
Tubing – Vinyl, 3/8ID
Fitting – 3/8” barbs
Looks like pretty decent performance to me but then i am completely ignorant on the whole watercooling side of things.
