*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

I finally started playing this over the Christmas break, only a few hours in, have done a few side missions and explored the city a bit, my next main quest is The Heist - still early days but I'm really liking it so far.
Will finish the play through before I start playing with Mods though.
I'm in pretty much the same position as you, just started playing. If you have a 2k/3k series Nvidia card then the frame gen mod is really worth it for free fps. It's not really a mod as such, so totally worth it on your first play through.

and after watching the vid in @mrk's post a few up https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/cyberpunk-2077.18408690/post-36881407
I decided to add all the mods listed in the vid and use similar settings to the vid and it looks great and runs great (still get AI bugs though),

Wasn't too surprised by anything on thar graph under performance hitters.
Am I right in thinking they've abandoned that engine now? Seems a massive shame if so.

They signed a 15yr contract with Epic to only use Unreal Engine back in 2022, this means Phantom Liberty and 2.1 are the last updates to the REDengine from CDPR, but as they've released the full scripting tools etc for the game, expect modders to continue as time goes on.

The modding aspect of PC gaming (despite the fact I don't utilise a huge amount) is yet again a massive boon.

While it is a shame that they are dropping their own engine - on the other hand, if CDPR are applying their engine developers to Unreal engine then that may help the overall quality of Unreal games as new ray tracing tech and general performance optimisations are fed back into the engine (I can't remember for sure, but I thought the deal with Epic involved them contributing to Unreal engine development)

I think I'm gonna have to change from a nethacking beast to a Sandevistanbuild after seeing this, my kind of combat lol. I have maxed out Overclock currently but I think Sandevistan matrix mod works best for my melee and ranged combat playstyle evolution.

So the base game cars do not have dynamic realtime mirror reflections, but modders can implement them in downloaded cars like on this G Wagon, it reflects low res versions of everything behind you lol, actually really cool in motion. The interior rear view mirror above does the same too.

The little details like that are really impressive. They don't change how you play the game, but they are appreciated when you spot them.

Sande is pretty fun, I'm only maybe 4-5 hours into my current game, going for melee/shotguns build as a change from stealth hacker before, and enjoying it so far. The only (pretty huge imo) downside is the loss of any hacking ability whatsoever. It's forcing me down a completely different playstyle, but it is frustrating not even being able to hack open doors or disable cameras :(

Yeah I actually thought my game was broken when I first switched to a Sande deck at a ripperdoc one time and was searching everywhere online only to realise you lose hacking as no quickhack slots :o

I will try it out though and see how much the added fun is.

This is why first person driving in NC is rather fun, shame none of the stock cars are this fast, you'd expect some serious horsepower given it's 2077

I also did a walk/drive-through video (still processing) with the sights & sounds of the city, there are some random firefights included too thanks to the Night City Alive mod which puts gangs and cops on full patrol, they remember you if you're bad to them and will start shooting you in another area of the city if the same gang members are driving/walking around. Includes biker NPCs too.

On the note of random events the NPCs now do, this guy rammed into the back of my G Wagon at high speed and offed himself, never seen that before the mod install lol:

All of those "photorealistic" presets are locked behind patreon etc which is a shame as most seem to just clone Nova LUT (which has been updates btw and is free on nexus).

Also they're all at certain times of the day where it's most realistic having now spent a lot of time testing it all out and using CET modules to change tike of day via a slider to test. Kinda neat.

I did a long video of a mix of driving, walking etc using Nova LUT and a few other mods.
