Belfry Sol/Luna can be a right pain! Does burning a human effigy at the bonfire do anything?

Otherwise I see two options-
1. Join the Bellkeeper Covenant
2. Play offline until you beat it(or sneakier, until you get to the door, then go online and summon if you want help with the Gargoyles.

joining the Bellkeeper Cov does nothing, I still get invaded. And I see no summon stones at the mist before the gargoyles. What a ******* **** ******* wind up area it is.

Are you human?

yes I am human

Done it now anyway, ran through the zone and quicky through the mist door. Took the bosses on, talk about a tense situation, kne I had to beat it first time cause was loosing patience trying to get through without being invaded hehe. Used all 6 Estus Flasks and a few stones lol. Damn multiple bosses is such a false difficulty in this game.

You need to equip the bellkeeper cov ring to not get invaded in the area... but you invade other people doing it automatically.

Also I'm one of those guys that invade you in the area and kill you. Sorry. I just want titanite chunks from it :(

I really dont get this area at all. Someone please explain

I've entered the Bell Covenant, I'm wearing the Bell Covenant ring but people are still invading me. There have been times where it has told me someone is stepping foot in the tower or whatever it says and I go and defend, but when im in defending the area whilst trying to kill the person, it then tells me someone is invading my world then proceeds to kill me lol...it all doesnt make sense

yep me too, it feels so underpowered, can easily get charged down, and your screwed close combat. Why does it take so long to fire an arrow? I'm at 45 DEX and 40 ADP but it still seems an age to shoot. It seems like the archer type role has been totally overlooked to me, you could have a whole host of amazing upgrades to bow, like firing 3 arrows at once etc. I'm not feeling it to be honest but I'm persevering. I see so many amazing characters around with incredible looking weapons and spells that do insane damage and im here with my poxy shortbow pew pewing. There must be more to this type of character.

This is so beautiful O_O

Avelynn for close range vs slow enemies like the old knight giants, Greatbow for sniping, shortbow for close range vs faster targets. Leo ring for nice counter damage with your arrows, ring of blades for physical damage boost, stamina ring because it's the stamina ring and possibly a ring of steel protection or whichever elemental ring you require for the area/boss. IMO.

Going in to a menu and selecting an item is more interesting than what?

What would I propose they do instead of story through item descriptions?...anything! an NPC, you could simply find lore books in the world, anything would be more immersive than that. I am not complaining about the lore, which is great when you get in to it, but the delivery of it is a step backwards.

Tbf, I do like the idea of books in game, or NPCs that reward you with lore and not just a big sward or a shiny magix stick.

It's an optional PvP area, and one that is designed to be hectic.

Of course you are, it's a long ranged weapon, why should you be anything but screwed in close combat? If you have 45 Dex, use a melee weapon in melee.

Yeah sorry, the game really isn't designed for it, bows are a supplemental weapon. The best you will get is dual Avelyns (crossbow).

The Lore in the Souls series has always been subtle and honestly something that takes a back seat, the game isn't about being spoon fed a story, however if you want to discover it you can. The games are about experiencing a world, rather than a story.

I've heard Avelyn is spammed in PvP a lot :p

It's actually not too bad.

I've been doing quite a lot of PvP in the 15m+ SM range and while it's not uncommon to see them in PvP, they're not a massive problem as they're fairly easy to dodge.

I've actually got a pair of mundane avelyns that I keep in my 3rd slot in each hand, but I normally just use them to trivialize PvE and only pull them out in PvP if the other person is doing something lame like estusing in the middle of a fight.

DS2 PvP is just a total cheese fest anyway, with virtually everyone exploiting one overpowered thing or another.

Yeah, I'm only doing it because I find it to be a bit of a challenge. My first play through I did normally and it was way better but this is kinda fun :p
