Dawn of War 3?

I think they've tried to get a balance between micro management but maybe forced too much in the way of active abilities whilst sacrificing cover and suppression mechanics etc.

The reason Dow 2 cover and mechanics worked because the micro management of units wasn't overwhelming due to the low population cap. I think with the current active abilities and pop cap the game would bog down in too much micro management of units that it simply wouldn't be fun given the sheer number. I personally think they should have scrapped active abilities for non elites and put in cover and suppression mechanics as the micro. Elites could remain as they are.

I'm torn i think it isn't far away from being the right blend of Dow 1 and 2 but possibly not until an expansion. I enjoyed Dow 2 in its own right but it was far more rpg and not epic enough in terms of battles for a 40k rts compared to Dow 1.

I understand it may make for more engaging and challenging competitive play, but I personally am not a fan of masses of micromanagement, and an army of 20 different unit types each with 3 abilities ready to use. I just want to have a laugh with friends and I feel the game is missing a lot of that.

I also don't know why they took it down to 3 races from both other games starting with 4.

I couldn't even complete the tutorial, seemed like I was waiting forever for it to give me back control of the mouse.

I don't buy these games for multiplayer anyway so tbh I won't be buying until I see some user reviews of the single player. If its anything near as hand-holdy as the tutorials then I won't be buying, really winds me up.

The tutorials were terribad.

I'm so torn on it. Loved both 1 and 2 but I can't get away with this moba crap. I really cant.

I only have myself to blame if this is a turd of a game because I pre-ordered it.

I loved DOW2, but the more I read about this the more I am concerned about another Colonial Marines saga. The steam boards are full of hate for it at the moment.

I'm not preordering - I did enjoy DOW2 massively and am currently playing it again now, but after the disappointment that was Mass Effect Andromeda, I've lost all faith in preorders.

Hoping the game is good and I may even save a few quid by waiting a few weeks.

The BETA was great for showing me how much I would hate this game. Not impressed with the graphic style and the gameplay was boring (Done it before and probably better). Money saved.

I thought it was good. Nice mix of styles and a good balance between casual battles band having some skillcap with all the active abilities.

As long as the campaign is decent I'll be happy with my pre-order

Looks like my key is available from CDKeys. Didn't get an email but looked at my order confirmation from March, clicked the download link on that and my key popped up.

Will pre-load when I get home from work.
