***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

I've never had issues with admins.

Last server I played on about 5 people cried hacker after I killed them and started calling the admin a hacker lover when they refused to ban me.

The admin ended up banning 3 of the 5 people for accusing and causing trouble.

Try disabling or putting 'Post processing' to low in settings.

Lead by example mate, If you dont like how people do something then man up get your own server and show them how it should be done. Instead of taking sly dig after sly dig...

we had our own server for the mod :confused: it is still up lol :p its currently 55th in ranking with 43 people on lol. (this is the kind of people i have to respond to just spouting garbage doesnt know me or even know we had a server for 2 years ! )



cause i voice my opinion its a troll ? i prefer the SA over the mod. the only reason why i would play the mod over SA is for content and maps nothing else. that's as clear as i can make it. how is that a troll its true.

never just assume anything.

Make sure energized and hydrated are both bright green, not dark green.
Then give it time, it'll say healing and you screen will slowly become less blurry.

Going into video settings does clear it up, but that doesn't mean you're healthy and it means as soon as you are hit once it'll revert back again. It's also cheating and will probably be fixed at some point.

If when you press 'tab' your character doesn't say "healthy", you need to heal.
 
Me and a friend just started playing this and it's very enjoyable. Only thing that annoys me is if one of us die it's about a 5 mile run to team up again and it's hard to find landmarks of where you are, Having said that though I guess it is all part of the experience.
 
yes it can be very harsh but that's what makes the game to be honest.

i just gone on (experimental) got bag shotgun food and the normal at airfield at moment. :)

3. Thief comes out, amazing trailers, etc, people play it: rubbish/rushed.

Please name me one game that has come out the last 3 months that is actually good?
 
dayz sa too early yet to judge . once content is in then judge it.

bf4 was really bad on launch but i play it now . is it amazing now? not really but it can be fun sometimes.

thief was never going to be great. released at 15 quid at many places that alone screams stay away.
 
How can you be disappointed in dayz when it's in alpha, it's stated its in alpha before you buy it and tbh we are lucky to even have access at this stage as I remember having to wait until release for a game to then find out its pants etc

It's akin to watching the opening 30 seconds of say Star Wars and calling it ****

You are playing DayZ SA in a state that (if it wasn't early access) would still be going through internal testing. It isn't really fair to compare it to full game releases, even awful ones like BF4 which still has flaws even after many updates.

Just imagine how bad BF4 would be in early access pre-alpha?! Doesn't bare thinking about tbh.

The price of Thief had quite a bit more to do with the AMD promotion than anything else. Although granted the reviews seem less than stellar.

Ive had that about 15 times or more, no joke, been fully kitted out as well. Its annoying as hell. Wait somebody will come in and say "Its Alpha". I say go and look at Elite Dangerous, that Alpha and highly polished, much more than Dayz...get my drift:)
 
Sounds like an issue with servers which don't have the link to the hive properly configured, they cannot retrieve your character. First stick to official servers, ignore any clan or 3rd party ones. Also I'd stick to those hosted by GamingDeluxe and Gameservers, they seem to be the most reliable in my experience. If you find a decent problem free server, favourite it and use it where possible.

Also when you login to a server pay attention to the server messages, if any have red text warning you of a character retrieval problem, exit right away.

I am not so sure on this being a deliberate feature of the game. A link to an official comment on it would be good if you have one please.

There are a number of statuses that we are all pretty much aware of including colour desaturisation due to blood loss, a hazy / swimming view after a fast run, motion blur if you look around fast and I understand there is blurring near the point of death usually coupled with significant blood / health loss (have not seen myself as I have only died twice, once in the dark and once when I was not looking at the screen).

There is also a blurred screen that occurs when the player is hit (damaged ??), regardless of condition (healthy or not). On occasion this momentary blur sticks. No blood loss evident, no noticable colour saturation loss, just a blurred screen that make the world look like a blurred water colour painting (no distinct edges, shapes blending in to one another).

If this is a deliberate effect imposed on a player then it is very badly thought out. Expecting a player, especially new players, to wander around with a badly unfocused view is at best extremely off putting and at worst a magnet for law suites in the US when the game is released ("oh my boy needs new glasses after staring at this games blurred screen for hundreds of hours so you need to pay us 50million $$$ for the damage your game caused").

When it happed to me, I ended up running around for hours with it. This would lead me to believe it is not indicating that I am near death (for hours...) and so makes me think that the blurred hit indicator which should momentarily indicate a hit sometimes gets stuck.

I also seem to recall that my screen has also gone blurry and has remained blurry even though my character is in a healthy state but I will double confirm next time I play.

Going to the main menu -> settings -> video resets it, which I tend to do automatically now due to the reasons above.

We had our first real encounter with another player over the weekend. Turned out to be a friendly if somewhat limited one...

THe two of us had made our way to the south airfield. We are both pretty much kitted out (M4s, pistols and my sone is still insisiting on also carrying the double barrel rifel in his hands...). We noticed the airfiled had been looted already as the doors were all open. There were also only a few players (4+ us) on the server. After zooming through the barracks we went to the prison building. My son tends to rush ahead and when inside the building we can loose track of each other. I went upstairs and looking in to the bunk room and saw my son checking the items out on the bed. Just as I was about to step in to the room, I suddenly thought "Since when did he change his helmet to a blue berret...". I slow walked backwards and stood covering the door from right angles with the window in front of me.

Time to try out my new mic. "Hey man, you friendly..." I called out. After a few moments I got a rather broken & very hard to hear "Friendly" come back. I lowered my gun (still in hands) let the guy know I was just outside the room and that I was coming in. He had a pistol out but after a wave or two we got chatting. His voice comes was really broken though. Standing next to each other was not so bad but anywhere else and it was terrible.

We saline bagged him and he chose to join us. We got down two hangers when we got the red 'No response from server" message and so suggested another server to him and then logged off for the server reboot. Never did see him again.

The reason I went in to the room to make contact was that my son was just down stairs in the same building (and was sitting next to me in reality) and if this guy had not heard me then he would be unaware of my son who could have setup and ambushed him on his way downstairs, held my stuff and I could have met up with him.

One other interesting discovery was that I managed to search one barracks building on the second server but the server was having issues with desync (can't open doors / character teleporting back to a previous position etc) so we went back to the original server which had now rebooted. The same barracks had the same doors were open and the same loot was on the beds. That was kinda unexpected... Thought the loot was unique to the server.

Getting a bit bored playing on my own (son had leaving exams this year so very limited to gaming time allowed). Did have a bit of fun sniping a zombie only to have around 30 attack me (one at a time). Ran dry on the SKS, clip reloaded, ran dry again, pistol... got a break and reloaded then some more appeared. They can really hear that SKS from a long way away judging by the amount of time it took the stragglers to get to me.

Well after playing this on the weekend I really enjoy it. You get some right **** heads when you’re trying to be friendly with them. But you also have some good moments, I was trying to get some new loot as a fresh spawn I had a back pack and an axe and a few bits of food. I ran into a room to find 2 guys fully kitted out with everything!! I was like ‘oh….Hi’ he pulled a gun out on me and told me not to move then shut the door behind me.

At this point I was pleading for them not to shoot or kill me, as it took me ages to get there! I had to get on my knees and they tied me up. They were French so I tried my hardest to communicate to them. They escorted me to a church to find another 3 of them waiting there. I tried to get my brother to rescue me but they shot him down. I was force fed rotten fruit so I became ill, they took my blood. I managed to break free while they were looting my brothers body I got shot but I still had some rags.

So I survived this ordeal but now my screen won’t stop being grey, what do I need to do? I am fully hydrated, and I am not hungry or sick???

Really don't know why people go along with peolle on a bullying power trip. At worst log off and if they kill the you the start again. Off shoot is that in order to not die, your bro died in game and you got food poisoning, lost blood and they got a blood pack. Not loggi g off in combat I fully agree with but why woukd someone be so attached to their game character that they would endure that sort of bullying and humiliation.

Anyway...

Get your energized light green bar up by drinking soft drinks. Make sure your hydrated is bright green and you should then see thr green healing bar come up. I had to eat some food before it came up for me iirc. Find some charcol tabs to get rid of the food poisoning. Hospitals are a good bet. North west of the south airfield is a military base. It has three hospital buildings.
