Well now ain't that a problem. Who'd have thunk it?

Casting vote goes to the organiser. I'd help, but I don't know the entertainment side of Reading (beyond the Hexagon and the cinema - been there - but that's no use).

Sat 21st would now be quite difficult for me to do - not impossible but I would have to be up and away early-ish on Sunday morning to get home and give my better half's friend a lift in to Birmingham

It's not really a problem but if anyone was planning on hanging around at all the day after then I couldn't be there

Saying that I can't now remember what days I voted for anyway :p
edit: ahh it's the ones that show as Italics and I didn't vote for the 21st anyway - well that's no help then :o :D

I'm in the opposite boat from you Rich. 28th is awkward for me (21st isn't without it's difficulties but doable). Ah well, you can't please everybody :)

Stan :)

Hehe it's always the way - well whenever it is I'll be there anyway, and I still owe you a drink from last Christmas :D

edited for clarity (and to save me an extra round :p)

right then, pending a date desicion what do I (or someone with more time) need to do to 'organise' this thing

AND

what do people want to do, sit in a pub and talk?? something more exciting?

Up to you on the date (either the 21st or the 28th judging by the poll). Unless you want me to reopen it, that is. Either date is fine with me personally. :)

FYI - I checked the Reading FC fixture list. No game on the 21st, and away on the 28th. The 28th is about as close as Reading are going to get to a local derby though.

As for the rest, name the time and the place. Usually a good pub and early evening (5-6PM). Some people may ask for a mobile phone contact number in case they get lost. You can then either plan where to go later in the evening if it needs to be booked, or 'wing it'. :)

Also, often people decide they want to meet up earlier in the day - say early/mid afternoon, for food and more pints. Not sure if you were aiming for pies in the evening, or the afternoon, so you can select accordingly. If you can't make that, I'll volunteer to cover, but like I said, I don't know Reading well enough to pick a venue. :)

If you get stuck, my email is available for guidance.

He'll wake up the next morning and discover 47 instances of FahCore_78.exe running on his PC as the result of dozens of people attempting to stealthily borg it. :D

Assuming it even managed to reach Windows it wouldn't be long before it simply blew up :D

And borging a toaster might be a good idea... :p Better yet, the George!

Decision in message

we'll go with the 28th then, it gives people more time. Would it be possible to get a definite (ish) number of people so I know what sort of venues to look at.

I'm kind of snowed under here at the moment so if anyone has any good ideas / venues don't be afraid to point them out to us all.

I'm always tempted by pie :D

right I'm off to convince infrastructure to buy me a crossfire'd dual x1900 PC

Ah well, you win some, you lose some.

I'm afraid I won't make this guys. It would mean me travelling the length of the country and back at the weekend and then all the way from the North of Scotland to Egypt on the Tuesday. As much as I was looking forward to finally meeting my fellow DC contributors, I'm not keen on doing so much travelling in such a short space of time.

Not to worry, if you all enjoy yourselves and want to do another one sometime, I'll organise it and then I'll be definite for that one.

Stan :)

Edit: It's a pity - I was looking forward to pie :D
