Mine should arrive on Wednesday apparantly.
*rubs hands together*

Sold my 2001FP yesterday and am now using an awful 30ms response 15" 1024x768 jobbie. It's ghost city.
*cries*

i've opened one up, tested it for 20 whole minutes (dead pixel scouring, using Dead pixel buddy)
it's perfect! that's so convenient. anyway that one is now stashed under my desk

the other two are currently unopened as the owner isn't here at the min.

initial impressions are pointless as i was using it on a STRAWBERRY FOOL graphics card over analog
max res seemed to be 1600x1200 (so i stretched it to test the edges)

the blacks were very good though i must say. on a full black in a pretty dark room (light off) there was definately no "bleeding" like the 2005FPW had (that i've seen in photos)

Samsung 181T
The daddy of previous generation PVA panels (beats most current monitors on brightness (250), contrast(500:1) and viewing angle(85/85/85/85) anyway)
Just slow response of 25ms which never bothered me too much anyway.

opened a 2nd one now
didnt scour it for dead pixels though as it isn't mind and the owner doesn't seem to be bothered about such things.

stand is very good! rotates & tilts silky smooth

Nuff said :)

Re: Gamma settings not being kept - I have a feeling something that it loading when Windows starts is resetting it because I can see its starting off correct, then going back to default once Windows has finished loading (if I go into the "Color" tab it goes back to what I want without me changing anything)

Still got to wait till tomorrow for mine to arrive. It's only recently left Limerick?!

I'm itching for some screenshots from consoles connected to this beast. Who's going to do the honours of the first review?

You know you want one Mr Latte.... :p

YEAH BABY!!!
Damn you lot just teasing me now!!!
One wouldnt be a problem but two ahhhh quite costly indeed. For me it would have to be a pair to replace the 193p set. True these would fit in great with my multiplayer console gaming for the room.

Different Perspective...
After using TFTs for the last few years and particular in a multimonitor configuration Ive got used to 1280x1024 with multiple displays. No denying 1920x1080 would be nice with movies and gaming on these 24" but currently running them on a 80" screen isnt so bad neither. :p

*After my own evaluation I think Id wait as currently my configuration with monitors and projector actually exceeds the desktop real estate that dual 1920x1080 monitors would provide anyways.

Lets say Ill look on with interest so guys hurry on with the pics/review me also really interested in seeing some games and consoles in action.

Rilot I await your findings mate...

testing the s-video input there from my sky box.

Quite impressed though i think a tvtuner + dscaler would do a better job to be honest.

It's so bright by the way! I've had to turn it down to 25%. Great now

Colours and contrast seems superb on default, i don't see any point in tweaking it as it looks just like my 181T "but better", and bigger.

And i consider the 181T to be a reasonable benchmark.

The backlighting is absolutely excellent, very good darkness with no patchyness. No dead sub-pixels at all, can't believe my luck! £620, what a result.

wow i've just set up the 181T on the analog port of my radeon9800p and i can't believe the difference......
It's so much better it's quite unbelievable actually. I know the 181T is 2 years old and the backlight is probably fading, but it just seems....dull

This is so good.

The screen looks superb Paul!
I noticed it's hooked up to a 201 Coolermaster case and I am wondering what those two drive covers with the cut-outs are for m8?
I use coolermasters myself and I`m just being curious :)

Cheers
