Excuse my crappy camera skills :p

2405fpw ,2001fp and w1700 Dell lcd tv on the far right..

I put the 2001fp up, to show just how big the 2405fpw is, the normal 2nd monitor use is behind the 2001fp, it's a small 1504fp, i keep upgrading and put the other monitors to one side..

I had a 1702fp, then upgraded to the 2001fp, now i've got a 2405fpw!!, so the 1702fp is on the other desk,what do i use the 2001fp for?? :p :p

... for laughing at?

No seriously, you should sell it. My little 17" spare has no use any more. If you've seen any of the pics I've posted - it's totally dwarfed. Maybe it'll be useful for dodgy lan parties where u dont want to take your good kit. Apart from that, it's a fairly big paper-weight!

Congrats to all of you and thanks for sharing guys.

Also thanks to Baddass for his post to help keep this thread alive, it was getting dodgy earlier so glad its been cleaned up.

I need a favour done.
Can someone please photograph their monitor showing the following:
1x Full sized www (no horizontal scrolling needed positioned in left corner)
1x Messenger chat window
1x Media player video (any size your comfortable with)

Please have none of the above overlapping, oh and the reason is to show just how much desktop space these babies have, appreciate...

Darkshadow,

I can't answer your first question mate. I don't see why it can't be done: there are sellers on Ebay who sell on to other buyers, so I'm sure it's just a case of you having evidence of your purchase should you need to claim on warranty.

Yes you can hook your PS2 up. It'll connect via composite, s-video or component. Not many games support 480p on the ps2 though - practically none in the UK - so component won't look much better.

Games play great in widescreen. You need some hefty hardware to shift the top resolution though - i.e. 6x00 nvidia or x800 ati. But the lower resolutions appear to scale well enough.

No backlight bleed as far as i can tell on mine.

Thanks dude, can you please explain 480p :o

austinpowers, as a quick test for a guy on the [h] forums, would you lean in close to the R.H.S. of your screen and listen closely. Can you detect the slightest of buzzing noises from your screen? (so quiet you can't hear it over say a quiet pc fan and unless you're right next to it)

Can't hear anything, and surely any small noise would be normal as the psu is intergrated into the right hand side rear of the panel..

Mind you my system has 11 fans,7 hdd's and it's watercooled so i'm not likely to hear a great deal :p :p

Well mine arrived today and I can't say i've been so ridiculously impressed by a piece of hardware in a long time. Hooked it up via DVI and it thrashes my 17" Iiyama tft for picture quality and colour vibrancy. Needless to say it also nuked the 21" CRT which it is replacing. Added bonus that my room now looks 10x larger since the hulk of a CRT is gone.

Thrilled to find that I can run HL2 and WoW at native res without any noticeable performance impact. Since my pc is a 2.4 Pentium coupled to a geriactric 9700pro I had feared the worst, but apparently it can hack it without a problem.

Obligatory HL2 shot

im really interested in grabbing one of these monitors, the cost is fairly high but if i can be reassured of a few things i may just get one anyway

I currently have a 17" tft 16ms viewsonic, no ghosting or such etc

What sort of image will i get during gaming at the native res of 1920x1200, i mean will the image look distorted when set to the correct ratio?
What i mean is will i lose the top part of the screen in order to view it in wide mode?

Also guessing my 850xtpe will be able to play at this res with the likes of HL2 etc with 4xAA 2x AF?

The screen is 16ms right, is this an accurate rating? and is it comparable to 16ms on a 17" tft? am i likely to see ghosting at all?

Next point is what are these like for resale if i decide its not for me?

likely to get £700 back for it do you think? i could take a few hundred quid whack on the chin if i get a month of pleasure from it

Anyway, also on to the connections, if i connect a ps2 to this, as it has no speakers is there a way to make the sound come from my pc speakers?

and lastly anyone got a close pic of one next to a 17" tft ;) just so i can drool and make my mind :D

sorry for that stupidly long post but there is a few pages that i really cba to read all of and look for what i need in the mass of posts

Cheers

mine has arrived, did a quick test before sticking it back in the box. gona set it up with my new desk over the week end as i have no room on me current desk.:/

thos wanting to know about xbox/PS2/GC hd or 480p modes should read the eurogamer.net article posted yesturday.

Ok, I got my PS2 plugged into this last night. Tested it with the component inputs. The only game I've got that supports progressive scan is Jak 2 and Jak 3, so I chucked them on first. They looked pretty good: obviously there were no scan lines, but the low-res of them coupled with the PS2 jaggovision really brought out the lack of AA. Colours were excellent though - very deep! Next up, I thought I'd try a standard PAL (50hz) game running through the component game on the screen. I wasn't prepared for the sweet result I got. Here's a picture of GTA: San Andreas running at 576i (PAL 50):-
