*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Personally, I'd always choose Gjallrhorn or Truth for pretty much the whole of VoG. The only time I'd switch to IB is for Templar (if up top) and Atheon (if using middle bubble technique). Both Gjallarhorn and Truth destroy Praetorians and Minotaurs and they're the biggest danger outside those two boss encounters.

Saying that, I don't have IB so I don't have to choose. Fatebringer, Black Hammer and Gjallarhorn for the win! :D
 
To be fair I haven't used a technique other than middle bubble and snipers on Atheon, but on HM he goes down so easy in 2 teleports if people are hitting him with IB/P&T/BH. Main problem on HM is glitches.

Just got my warlock boots soloing the bridge, so just need Xur to bring a nice exotic helm and that's my 32 and effectively me done with Crota's End apart from alts cheesing up to bridge for a few more shards.

I will just bring all my strongest stuff and swap out as required :D

This reminds me, I should get my vanquisher VIII 331 attack off of my second Warlock. I am out of room completely in the vault now so have to use her and the hunter as spare vaults..... :rolleyes:

I have only used the middle bubble method as well (No G'horn). If Piphal is running a Titan (his Warlock is level 30 now with self revive so can run either) he will have to pop a bubble and then jump away to hit Atheon with G'horn.

I got another Black Hammer, a 2nd pair of gauntlets and some chest armour for my Titan. Still need to run my Warlock and Hunter through it so I'll probably do it again at some point if you're up for it :)

ICEBREAKER!!!! At long, long last! :D

Just grabbed the first chest in Crota's End before heading off to bed, and there it was, along with a cloak and a couple of shards. Nice!
 
I got the gloves to finally get lvl 32.

Could not for the life of us do templar tonight. Just haven't got it some nights.
 
Well, that's the entire Crota's End raid solo'd. Cheesed the lamps and the bridge, but both the Deathsinger and Crota were beaten completely legit. Feeling rather happy with myself now!

Oh, and what did I get for beating Crota on my own? 2 shards. Plan C as well, but where's my Black Hammer dammit?
 
Good run up to Atheon last night & a great run by Greeboth, Mid_Gen, Zoomee & Aposto finishing off the Templar after Piphal & I derped with our rockets.

I had a good run with the Relic so I feel much more comfortable with it now. Smashing the Minotaurs coming out of the portals at the confluxes was great fun. The only problem I had was a Hobgoblin regaining all of its health after smashing it and being one shot..

We just need to get the Oracles down faster (and hope for no more bugs where the relic holder ends up back in the portal despite going through) and we will smash Atheon. :)

Lol! He didn't fall down and miss out on the chest did he? :p

Black Hammer is awesome, although you probably already knew that. Doing the Nightfall last night with the 3 of us using Black Hammer, the tank was more like a level 5 Dreg, and that's without solar burn! One shot I fired took off 32,000 damage :eek:

Everyone but myself can see him behind me. I can only see him located in the hole, that happened before during VoG, when we were hiding in the chest room to avoid the legion, another player was outside despite everyone else seeing him in the same room as I!

Bugs bugs bugs... Bungie is now Bugie for me.

Was great fun man. Especially when i got the relic because you dropped and instead of putting the shield up i tried to one shot Atheon with the Super that was brilliant. Sorry guys i never got the relic so i assumed it would be the Super :P. Are we going again to finish this off tonight?

I will go for nightfall and Crota if anyone is interested

Yeah was a good run with a few HM first timers, didn't really get stuck anywhere until we ran out of time at Atheon, 4 goes at Templar? Think a few people got some good practice in, funniest time was when we did 3rd teleport at Atheon, all jumped to middle and rookie relic holder fired super instead of bubble :D Missed a titan with WoL I think.

I got some good time in going into portals on gatekeeper to get the relics for the first time too. Best of all.....I finally got Fatebringer, which rocks.

I'm going to keep doing VoG HM....I enjoy it so much more than CE, and the raid weapons are still worth having.

That was me!! I like VOG it needs coordination but both raids are buggy. I think i got everything from VOG though and having a few vendor items doesnt help when the armor drops from VOG. It is just that crota is rubbishly coded that nothing works as it is supposed to. I will probably roll another char just to go more runs and get more shards got only energies yesterday and yes 5th sniper in 4 runs of VOG...

Yeah that was quite funny. Everyone jumped to middle only to have no shield. I think you actually said something like "wait, why is the shield not up and why have I shot something at Atheon". :p

I'm up for finishing it tonight.

If we aren't Piphal and I will be running the NF tonight. If we are not already in a full fireteam feel free to join us (our FT may be full depending on whether one of our usual runners can make it).
 
I just have no interest in Crota's End now, the boss fight is boring, the rest is too short and easily cheesed. Just gonna get the last 20 shards I need for 32 on my main then I'm done with it...not sure I can be bothered with hard mode at all, it's just lazy upping the difficulty by making enemies higher level than you.

Ill happily keep running VoG, I enjoy all the fights they keep everyone involved and the difficulty is spot on. Would like another fatebringer and still don't have the damn vex!

Might be able to fit in an Atheon takedown tonight....gotta help gf with some stuff first after running over midnight last night (stupid time zones).
