I swear it's easier to get a raid team together than it is to do a Tier 3 Court of Oryx
All you need is a Jay and a Gimp!
Yeah thanks for helping! Appreciate it!!
And yas you don't lose the rune if you fail to complete fortunately so you can give it as many goes as needed
It's amazing the amount of people I've run into who have never seemed to do Crota before. The mechanics are virtually identical, but I've seen people down the Fanatic instantly, ignore the witches, run up to the Fanatic and hit him with the sword while he's still shielded, and people who ignore him altogether. I've also been lucky though and been in a few random groups who know what they're doing, and we down him inside 2 minutes. Pot luck I guess.Yep it is lol. I got an antiquated rune which I need to do for an eris bounty and quest. Could use it with some randoms but don't want to take the chance of them screwing it up for me and therefore losing out on both the bounty and quest.
Which is better for the raid, Warlock or Titan? I've got my Warlock up to 294 and my Titan to 293, but I reckon I can have the Titan to 295 by tomorrow. Any preference?OcUK originals 7pm Tuesday raiding, sorted

Cool, I'll see how high I get my Titan today and decide from there. My Hunter is only 287 so I'll aim to get him up to 290+ and then maybe try to raid with him later in the week. I've got the Nighthawk so he'll be useful for that damage.Honestly either are fine for the majority of the raid. Both of the new supers are extremely good for add control and they can tank quite a bit of damage.
I think I will be running on Moody again (Hunter) as the Nightstalker Bow helps massively when you need to DPS the boss(s).
Moody is now at 294/295 so I should be much better in the earlier stages (I was only 288 on the last run to Golgoroth).
I know the Oryx mechanics but I won't give too much away.
(Having two Golden gun hunters with the 6x damage helm really helps here - the DPS windows are tight)
(This all assumes I won't have to drive to Bath RUH AGAIN.....)
oh opps sorry doh
will take a spot on here then if its okay

YES!!!!!!!! Just killed Oryx!
F U ya big winged freak!
I got him myself, at 5am Sunday morning lol. After our OcUK group had no luck I went and did an Agonarch Rune, popped a three of coins before hand got Zhalo Supercell! Then after Corey went to bed I thought what's the worst that could happen so I hopped on LFG and got a pretty sound group of lads, dropped him after about 9 or 10 tries.
We didn't do anything differently than our OcUK group were, it's just execution really. I think it's a lot like the Atheon and Crota fights when they first came out where sometimes the game just says NOPE at times but overall, you'll get him eventually as long as everybody is playing solid.

Honestly if it had been earlier I think we might have had him as well. By the time we had got the mechanics nailed down we were all starting to get tired. Tired = mistakes and mistakes = wipe.
The fight is amazingly unforgiving if (as you say) everyone is not on their A-game.
Edit: Am I right in thinking for our group tomorrow that you haven't run any of the raid Davey? have you seen anything about it or are you going in blind? Oweo you have done up to Gorgoroth and seen Oryx but missing the bit between them? And everyone else has run the whole raid?
I would say that it is good to have 2 of each. Without saying too much, there are times where it is handy to have titans for bubbles bros or hammers, warlocks for their lightning or hunters for their bow or golden gun. For the first raid I would bring whichever you are most comforable using but if you really have no preference then which balances the group best. I am bringing my warlock and Oweo is a hunter but I don't know about the rest.

Couldn't agree more. I do think there was a few times on our runs when the game just said TOO BAD but overall, by the time everybody was on the same page we were all tired. When I stepped off that platform too early and Moe couldn't get the relic, I needed a hug. That was the low point of my night lol.
I am starting to see the appeal of those earlier start times for the raids, keep everybody fresh. Just Moe unfortunately can't start until a bit later and I know you wouldn't think it but I do enjoy playing with him, he's a sufficient player.. adequate you might say.
Davie & Mid_gen have only got up to but not completed Golgoroth. (Davie might have done more but I am not sure).
Mach I am not sure about.
I have done up to Golgoroth (I know what to do but haven't executed it in practice) and know the mechanics for Oryx. Not seen the Deathsingers.
It was a good laugh TBH. My dancing Ogre was a highlight... I have a new found hatred for the Acolytes Eye enemy and my Raid snipers stupidly slow reload.
