*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

I use ToM throughout the Oryx fight, inside and outside of the Aura. The extra damage and saving of ammo is invaluable. Just reload once you start eating into the red.

Depending on who signs up for which day depends which character I will bring. I know I can get my titan to Oryx but if we give Oryx a go I can switch to my Warlock is necessary. Hopefully I get enough drops that my Warlock can be 311 or higher when we get to Oryx.

I put myself and Kyle down for Thursday's raid for our alts Greboth but Kyle may change his raid day to the Saturday but he will let you know.

Interesting that you are worried about ToM at Oryx. As far as I know you haven't killed yourself with it yet so would have thought you would be fine using it.

100% sniper/heavy for Ogres and Light Eater Knights. ToM for Oryx. ToM is invaluable due to the ammo management. I.e if you're not using it to stagger Oryx, I take it you'll use a sniper. In turn that means you're going to be using more special and might struggle with ammo later in the fight / risk having to pop a synth mid fight etc.

I haven't killed myself with it yet and do use it at Oryx.

I do however have a tendency to forget myself and use it in full auto until I hit the red "shields gone" warning. (I'm the person that runs into their own trip mines in PVP .... :p)

I certainly do use a sniper on Ogres / knights. That said I have never run out of primary ammo when using my SoM pulse so never really thought about the ammo issues.

I'll be back home on Friday so I should be free for Saturday, will confirm with the misses and see what where doing. Should have this updated late today/tomorrow.
 
Just did the nf with a few randoms and managed to snag the suros regime exotic which dropped at 310. About time I got a decent exotic weapon, sharded my original one that dropped at 290.

Still able to run it again Dave and hairy if u guys need to do it later tonight.

Yeah I still need to do it. Has been a while since I did a nf.

Also if there are any other Normal Mode raids planned during the week give me a shout as I just want to practice and get more comfortable with the mechanics.

Is the one on Friday evening not taking place?? I'm doing a normal raid at 430 today with some randoms off 100.io. See if I get anything decent, could do with some raid armour ie chest piece and gauntlets.

As for the nf?? I'll be on later to do it with u and hairy but hairy said he's not home till 9 so can wait till then.

You're exactly right. The way he's talking in that video you'd think it was the smoothest run ever. They had 2 deaths (1 resurrected I believe) and quite a few other times where the person commentating almost died. It definitely involves luck being on your side, there's more work to do on the knight watcher strategy but I think overall I think it's safer.

The Friday night raid will be still going on assuming we have enough people.

Brilliant thing was you did the hardest ship jump, Golgoroth and Oryx first time!

Don't know what happened in the golden pillar room, I even pushed Thor back to the bottom to help you out......

Yeah should make it....... Just a slight issue of a skeleton to deal with first
 
Another good raid with some randoms off 100.io. Managed to snag a 300 helmet, 302 chest piece and some weapons to infuse others with ie hand cannon, rocket launcher.

Pretty pleased with that haul.

Nailed the raid in about an hr, most of our time was taken up with the damned piston jumping bit...how I loathe that bit so so much :p
