Fun run last night guys. No doubt you can do it quicker now you know the fights, although the jumpy bits may still slow you down, lol :)

Sorry I had to leave, didn't expect it to take til 11:30 and the wife needed to get to bed (I was already in the bad books so there was no chance of me staying on).

ha no worries mate, we had a quick run through the sisters but who'd have thought there'd be more jumping.....

Hopefully get it finished off on Monday, I'm assuming it saves fireteam leaders progress anyway.

Thanks to OweO and Davie too for their patience in mine, carters and cusacks incredible display of jumping!

No problem. :) My wife had already disappeared upstairs anyway so I knew I couldn't stay on for much longer after you left anyway...

It was a good run and as you say would only get quicker now the guys know the fights and mechanics involved. The laughs and the banter easily made up for each one of us having our derp moments (me dying to the brand on the Warpriest after I had explained what to do..... *face palm*)

DPS is king on the first two bosses so I would focus on getting a good sniper (I recommend 100-Yard stare in any burn) up to the highest attack possible (this only applies if you don't have a high impact sniper over 290 attack). Black Spindle is king at these points but is not essential.

Funnily enough no one seemed to struggle with the jumping at the Deathsingers. The only thing we struggled with was missing a 6th player for add control and the timings after the first burn phase.

I can't remember if you left before hand but we had planned to have another crack at it (Deathsingers / Oryx) on Monday evening at 7ish.

Yeah I've got 2 1000 yard (void and solar) both 297, they were hitting around 80k dps on gorgolox (sp). Jumping will be fine, it's mainly just timing on the ships and the second to last jumping section is just about hitting the boost at the right time. Hopefully get my hunter up to 290+ this weekend so I'll be able to jump on raids from here more often. Still need to run through the entire game with my lvl 3 warlock who's been neglected since the dawn of destiny.

Will get a shed load more 3 of coin this afternoon and run through the strikes with cusack and carters this weekend to try get some good drops.

Pigtails (my primary since Day 1) is sad at this fact.... :(

Yes, my guardians have names... :p

I should be around Monday, I'm on most evenings at that time anyway. At least I learned something new, grabbing the gaze on Golgy, even if I got absolutely nothing but moldy shards as drops, ha :)

I get the sense once you've got the right mix of weapons and have done it once or twice it should only take 6 decent players less than 90/120 mins to run through. Thinking about it, there isn't a massive level of difficulty to the 'bosses' though I haven't done Oryx yet but I'm sure everyone has a strat to complete it fairly quickly.

Most of it is mainly not getting caught out in the open for too long and getting your shots off as quickly and accurately as possible.

Don't worry, the X1 community is still thriving :p

We just tend to have tighter knit groups that have built up over the year and so it's no longer necessary to arrange raids through the forum. I can't speak for everyone, but I arrange the vast majority of my raids through WhatsApp with people I met through this thread.

I'll still jump on the odd raid that's posted in here, but I'm usually booked in to do 3+ each week as it is. :)

This is basically it, the xbox guys are much better friends than ps4 so we never come in here as we speak to each other daily, play other games together etc. Ps4 users are gay and unlikeable so they have to resort to coming i this thread :p

In terms of Boss fight mechanics Oryx is the only one which isn't a pure "stand in place & DPS" style of fight. There is an element of burst DPS but beyond that it all about the mechanics.

I will say that initially it sounds quite overwhelming (it did to me) but after a few goes the mechanics will become straight forward and we can then focus on getting him down. :)

On a side note I don't think I am going to able to make the Saturday HM run. I need to double check with the Mrs.

Got all the way to Oryx and it just wasn't happening tonight =(

It is a shame really, I was hoping we could get it completed. The strat we were using seemed to be a good one so I don't think it was luck when you did it the other night. I know some of the wipes were down to me but sometimes I don't know what I could have done differently. As soon as Turbo got the relic Oryx seemed to focus on me on the first platform and he just melts you. Even getting off as soon as turbo got the relic usually left me with a red flashing health bar. The only thing I can think that may buy me an extremely small amount of time would be watch turbo grab the relic rather than wait for him to say. Though the problem then comes that if I watch the jumper I can't DPS the 4th Ogre. The most frustrating part is that we got through the first phase fine but couldn't get through the second. I'm sure thought it will just click one run and we will get it done.

Need to check with the Mrs? Well we know who wears the trousers :p

I wouldn't worry about it really, we never got close to having a group together to do it anyway.

TBH that is what happened for us on Wednesday. Numerous wipes (getting closer and closer) and then everything just went right.

As Mid_Gen has said in the past - I have run out of tokens to be able to raid on Sat. In my case this translates to the Mrs meaning "I really want to play Halo, please get off the TV so I can play Halo! No you can't use the other PS4 as I need your help on Halo"...

(She really wants to play Halo 5....) :p

Hopefully by the time we've run through after reset we'll all be a couple light levels higher which will help eliminate the deaths.

Dropping off the front platform onto the ledge as soon as the relic has been grabbed helps massively, but the timing is very tight. If the relic runner is just a little slow then the Tombship bombs are already en route to you at that point. Maybe having an hunter go invis or bubble bro on the first plate will help minimise deaths from Oryx's face cannon.

Just sit down emote on first platform, then side step left and right to avoid the tomb ship blasts. To be honest, nobody on a platform really needs to shoot the ogres, blessing titan and floater can easily knock the health of them down. Much safer to sit on your platform and not draw attention to yourself.

It definitely wasn't luck on Wednesday, we earned that everybody played great. I probably sound a bit snotty here but the main issue last night was people making little mistakes that aren't a big deal in normal mode but they're huge in hard mode. We had a lot of deaths during the phase where Oryx started summoning bombs on to people and in normal mode if somebody dies it's just a shrug of the shoulders and pick them up when the phase ends, if that happens on hard mode typically it's a wipe. Turbo died a lot during the phase he was saying he just needs to find a comfortable zone to go to, it had to have been tough for Turbo last night because running relic on normal mode and then doing it on hard mode are two very different matters.

The other issue we had was people dying on plates. Again I'm just talking from previous experience but as long as you stay crouched at the back edge of your plate whilst attacking ogres and drop down to the little ledge nearest to the sister platform on your side when the runner has the relic you should be fine, the only time this strategy is an issue is when the runner is a little slow getting around but I felt like Turbo was getting around pretty fast. I'm going to do first plate next time Greeboth just to see if I can figure out what is causing Oryx to attack you. Maybe because Turbo was waiting middle for the vessel to clear the centurions Oryx lost sight of him and therefore also lost aggro and he turned to the next closest target, you.

Ironically the 'hard' part of the fight getting your Ogres down fast and killing the knights we nailed, those all went down pretty fast. I suppose for all the advantages I think Knight Watcher strategy has over No Knight strategy there is one negative, if somebody dies you're usually finished. The No Knight strategy can work with 5 it just puts more pressure on the support guy.

It didn't really occur to my until afterwards that in normal mode I usually take the floating/ad duty role so usually run up and down the walkway and so am comfortable doing that. So we could have swapped the Turbo took the Oryx plate and I took the walkway.

It is a little hard to say as for most of the fight I have my back to Oryx. However I do not think it was a timing issue for Turbo getting round and it didn't seem to matter how long Turbo took to get round or him waiting in the middle. It was as soon as Turbo got the relic Oryx switched his focus to me and melts me with his face cannon (I like the term mid gen :D ). I think, due to the flight path of his face cannon shots that dropping off meant some of his shots hit the plate and not me. Though if I was a little slow or a random ad had wandered in to the middle meant I was dead.
