DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

I honestly cant remember if it did or not. I know I selected ultra settings on the graphics option. nvidia experience tried to up the resolution to 2715x1527 dsr which ive kept at 1920x1080 as ive only got a 1080 monitor.

Hmm, i'll have to get around to the latest drivers, not had time yet.

Its not AB that causes it to bomb, as it does it without it running as well, fire the benchmark away, and when it loads to run, i get a beep, monitor goes into standby, and my kb locks, so i have to hard restart, very odd.

Turned the 'Advanced Blending' off, and got this.

139.40 Average.

54.67 Minimum.

165.74 Maximum.

Which is a massive difference, compared to with it on.

60.34 Average.

42.36 Minimum.

91.85 Maximum.

Don't see any difference gfx wise either, so god knows what that setting does, apart from cripple the frames :p

Got this today, spent about 20 minutes setting up my G27 and profile settings etc. only to discover the left paddle is broken and won't shift anymore! Got to worm through Logitech support now to claim warranty on that as I only got it last year :/

On the bright side, played a bit with a 360 controller I had and my is this game fun :D Been searching for something like this since Colin McRae on PS2!

Went in to play with a car quickly and ended up doing 2 championships all on a keyboard, really can't wait for the controller to get here already!

Since I haven't really followed the game much in EA, where do we stand on stages now that it's in full release? Can we expect more locations in the future or what we have is what we get? Those Japan stages in RBR still give me both nightmares and wet dreams at the same time :eek:

Hopefully be some DLC added.

I see no gfx problem on that video, the flash is just when the camera changes position, thats normal.

You not see the big red start gantry flash on at 1:47 :D

EDIT:

Managed to catch it on pause :p

Can see it clear as day at 720/1080.

Need to sort the sensitivity out (360 pad), as its like trying to steer a container ship, ive got to start turning about 3 miles before a bend :p

u tried the 360/one pad preset..

ive seen this for pads too

but ive never changed anything as i just keep practicing

normally i go custom rally pick a stage and just keep doin the same one over and over again till i get used to it then go into career

i can only do and hour max coz i have a bad hand (carpel tunnel syndrome)

u can try these thats been recommended

sensitivity = 100
linerity = 0
deadzone = 10

Havn't tried any settings yet, will give em a go, thanks :)

Its all ive been doing as well for now, custom rallys. :p

I think I'll have more luck pulling a shipping container into port than driving 5 corners on the snow without crashing into the banks.

I've fiddled with the gamepad options as I haven't used a wheel for DiRT yet.

I'm not too bad in snow, think after playing RBR all those years back I learnt to basically powerslide and drift through entire levels. Cars do feel a lot more poised around the corners in Dirt and have far more grip. Road surface does feel smoother than in RBR so seems more forgiving but all in all it feels perfectly playable and hard enough without being punishing.

One I actually struggle with is Finland but I think it's more a confidence thing as it involves driving at really high speeds so smallest mistakes put you into a tree doing 17 flips. Well not really but I need to wait until I at least have a controller in my hands to play this with.
