But what I am saying is...you sell your fastest GPU now...what the heck are you going to use to play your games in the meantime? I couldn't justify selling my 4870X2 (even with the waterblock it currently uses) well before the 5870X2's are released. Mainly cos I want to also wait for a water block for said 5870X2 GPU. As I said earlier, even it if cost's £500, I'll damn well get it. :D

My motherboard has been on RMA for a month now ;) Trust me i can wait 2 more weeks :)

Ah that I can understand but when you are still actively using it like I am lol. Saying that tho I just seen a vid of one of the cards on another thread. It looks AWESOME :D

Now I am thinking, that if the fan doesn't go as loud as what the 4870X2 did, then I guess watercooling the card won't be necessary and I will buy it as is :D of course should it be as loud (or louder) then water block wants to be readily available...

These have been kicking around for a week so I assume they've probably been posted and debunked already but I can't be bothered trawling through a massive 3000 post thread to look.
 
if those are correct the 5850 is roughly -20% slower than the 295 which tbh is FANTASTIC VALUE! BUY BUY BUY :D
 
I wonder how hot the 5850 will run?

With the exit vent being so small I am thinking that they'll be quite cool running compared to the 4800s which have high core temps don't they?
 
Ok, hands up, who here is wetting themselves with excitement?

Personally my 280 does everything I need, I'll be waiting for the release of MW2 then evaluate whether to swap to ATi or just get another 280 for SLI, sure they will be cheap by then.

To be honest, i'm pretty underwhelmed. I was expecting GTX295 destruction from the amount of hype but it looks like this is basically going to end up a single GPU GTX295 performer for a little less money. Not a bad thing but hardly the second coming of christ that the hype seems to have built it into.
 
im still worried the 5870 wont vit in my V350 case grrr cant find the length of one anywere.

Might have to go with the 5850 instead or 2 as they still seem cracking cards.
