You didn't ask me a question but I asked you one and it appears you don't want to answer it.
It doesnt enable anything they are already there and have all the same help that white people get.

@Surveyor What would you say if Alan Sugar paid for 30 scholarships that were strictly for white kids?
But the discussion is pointless.
The only reason we're having it is to entertain ourselves.
Unless someone here is secretly a lot more important than they're letting on.
So taking the pics and being entertaining is quantativley more of a contribution to the actual purpose of the thread than asking round about gotcha questions that would have you booed off stage in any formal debate

No probs, I would deem it to be racist if it excluded all races except blacks, as I do Stormzy’s one that excludes whites.

Are saying that because we cannot change what is happening this thread is pointless and therefore derailing the thread is better than trying to engage in the the discussion?
These are scholarships that otherwise wouldn't exist so I'm OK with it.
Alan Sugar can pay for the 30 white kids and Stormzy can pay for the 30 black kids. I'm sure there are rich people of other ethnicities who could do the same. They probably already do but don't publicise it.

Yes but could the scholarships not simply be for poor and needy people rather than race specific and therefore help the people who really need it?
They could. The applications for the Stormzy Scholarship are ranked based on:
- household income data provided by you to Student Finance
- indicators of higher education participation and socio-economic disadvantage based on the school you attended and the postcode in which you live, which will be drawn from your UCAS application
- your personal statement

Why can't they go to any race who needs it though?
We know that there are 8-9 times more white people living in poverty in the uk than black people so, these funds don't address the problem of poverty.
They just exacerbate that it is acceptable to discriminate based upon race. Which is the opposite if what we all want.

We just want to see an end to racism in all its forms. It’s the 21st century, nearly 60 years since Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech. Nobody should be excluded based on race. We still have a long way to go.

Having an eligibility criteria based on ethnicity is 100% racist. No doubt about that.
This over compensating for the past is not the right way to do things.
Everyone in this country should have equal opportunity (and they do, except it seems in cases like this). That's all you need.

I think the reason the Stormzy project as sparked a conversation is because there is nothing for the poor white kids who are still discriminated based on class. If they were supported as well then there wouldn't be the same reaction.
The white class issue means they are now free to discriminate by class of other white people. It's like the class issue as been wiped from the conversation.
I think discrimination happens more at the middle level of society. If you have a business and have to fulfill a quota for ethnic minority staff then the system is now setup so you'd likely pick the ethnic minority person. Which then gets accusations of that the business picked him/her because of their race rather than if they could do the job. The sad reality is if the person picked can do the job well, and was the best candidate, they are now undermined because of favouritism.
I still blame the media for a lot of the perceptions of race in this country. In my opinion they have purposely focused on the dregs of society and presented it as normal. If they put more intelligent people on tv from different races then the stereotypes would slowly change to reflect the reality. It doesn't take a genius to see that promoting (American) black gangsterism (so well that even other races wanted to be black) is going to lead to the normalisation of general thuggish behaviour.

Well that's not true is it?
There are many scholarships and bursaries and grants for kids from low income households.
There are 9x as many white kids as black kids in that situation as the stat keeps getting repeated (seems obvious given there's 9 times as many white as black households in the uk) so there is 9 times as many white kids as black kids eligible for those grants.
But that isn't the case is it?
Unless a new law got passed recently that's what I think the SC people would call a strawman right?
