Divinity: Original Sin 2

Just lined myself up for what looks like the last battle of Act1. Not going to spoil it but is going into the fight at lvl7 going to be ok?

I took down the Voidwalker on my first attempt. It wasnt too bad but I did use 5 resurrection scrolls on party members. When I can respec I will ensure I spec a healer. :)

Well depends which fight theres 2 which could be the last major battle one just before the boat and one on the boat both are a pain let us know which one ur on ;)
I just made it to reaper coast think I'm level 9 or 10

Some basic tips for just starting out-

Spec someone as a healer, but maybe give someone else hydrosophist as well so they can heal.
Have one member with the pet pal skill so they can talk to animals.
One with thievery so they can open locks.
Probably focus on 3 skills for each character. For example, my main character focuses on Scoundrel, summoning and dual-wielding. Another is warfare, geomancer, one handed.

In terms of combat, just experiment. You can respec at the end of act one if you need to tweak anything.

Ok, thanks.

Great game but as with the original the difficulty drops down significantly after act 1. I am playing on tactician and the same as with the original, first fights are damn near impossible and end boss of act 1 was benny hill style running away from everything around the castle but now in act 2 I got colossal summon beast, rest of party is tanky enough now with enough spells / utility to live through anything, first several fights in act 2 seems extremely easy, hopefully it will become more of a challenge.

Other than the difficulty the game is great, as was the original one. Fantastic atmosphere, deptth, flexibility of interesting ways to solve various puzzles/challenges.

I don't suppose any 1 has a save game for the first game (enhanced edition) start of act 2 would be amazing ;)

I rocked up to Act 2, at level 8 ish and immediately got in a fight with level 12's.......got battered.
Avoided that fight, went the other way, fought some dwarves, got battered.
Fought some voidwalkers, got battered.

Guess just depends on your party makeup. :)

Think I am missing any form of summoning, gonna see if I can get a few summoning items and try that. :)

A lot of classes have some sort of summoning, they are very helpful but for me utility was most important, for most of act 1 my tactic was essentially either to port main baddie far away to where the rest 3 members of my party located to kill him in 1-2 turns and then try to survive the rest or opptosite, I would just keep porting the main tough mob away each time it came close to my party, whilst dealing with the easy sidemobs

For alexander fight I attacked at a choke on the wall so that his forced had to come to me without instagibbing my party on first turn, then when the void worm came I just started running each turn around the castle, with the worm chasing and killing my party slowly whilst alexander forces were slowly killing the worm, after alexander forced killed the worm I kept running around the castle (and teleporting them away from me if they caught up) to get back cooldowns and heal the party up, I found the whole encounter hilarious but there was no way I could beat him without this cheese :D

loving it so far, still in act 1, maybe just over half way through it. but a couple of questions. How do you get source points to use your source skills? I got the collar off my main but still cant use the skill. Im also at the usual point in these games of having a huge list of quests in the log which i don't know what to do with! I dont know if ive mucked them up and cant finish them or what. Example, i got past the fort and into the sanctuary by going through the prison and using the boat. But ended up just going back into the fort and killing everyone anyway which seemed to defeat the point of taking the prison route. But doing that might of screwed up some quests.

My party are all level 6 now and at the point they are at are just walking through everything without breaking sweat. So im not sure if i should be paying more attention to what im stomping.

The people back in the starter area don't seem to be too bothered that all the guards are dead now either and don't reference the fact. Also I have fane in my group who i started taking faces off corpses, but it didn't really seem to matter since he has a helmet on that covers him up anyway, and i still haven't found the parts the make his masks. Im enjoying it more that the first game but it seems a little "flabbier" with regards to cause and effect which the first one was a bit stricter on.

I think Fane's mask is really more for if you want to approach a dialogue situation as a certain race, Fane can just switch whenever he wants. For example if you come across a lizard who won't talk to you, try switching Fane to a lizard face and see if that helps. Useful if you play as a solo undead too!

Regarding source points - don't worry you will pick some up. Source is quite scarce though tbh. You'll find some in the Marsh.

Anyone have a useful source of a relatively cheap key? I should have got involved at kickstarter stage as I loved the original.
£30 steam seems about the cheapest I can find it. Not.... totally unreasonable but a few quid off would be nice.

Must stop reading this thread! I don't have time to get stuck into a 60 hour+ epic RPG like this until Christmas, but reading everyone's posts here is fuelling my Original Sin cravings something rotten. It sounds absolutely great.

Steam is about the cheapest, doesnt look like Div 2 has much presence on CD Key sites at all.

Its superb. I loved the first one but this is like Refined Original Sin, its almost as if Div 1 was just a trial run for this game !
