Thats what allot of people do though. Good science fiction has rational explanations for things, bad science fiction is when you make it up as you go along im afraid. It makes a world of difference in a good story.

Ofc Doctor Who has always been a bit on the crazy just for the sake of it is a bit outdated. As i said before, people will be comparing this to other shows that are out there.

Anyone comparing Dr. Who to, say, BSG, is probably missing the point of one, or even both shows.

Oh i agree comparing BSG to Doctor Who in a face off is a bit silly as they're so different but there are still shows out there that are of a similar wacky premise to Doctor Who, Warehouse 13 and Eureka spring to mind.
 
Disappointed yet again by this new series. The girl basically decided for the doctor doing that whole "pay attention" thing was abit out of sync with every other dr who episode to date.
 
Finally watched this last night. Did anyone else think the tentacles looked like the things from the original Half Life game?

yes they did lol.
i cant say im a massive fan of dr who, but after watching ep 2 of the new series i have to say the new dr is a grower and a lot more fleshed out then previous batch iv seen.

and the girl (whatever her name is) is really good and adds a kinda cute edgy roll that was needed i think.

as for the episode it was a bit random and silly, it didnt really go anywhere but it was enjoyable.

i agree with some of the comments here though in that the show needs to raise the realism a bit, i know its scifi but some of the things iv seen in previous episodes have instantly made me switch off.

Doctor and his assistant squeeze into the telephone box - are unable to close the door behind them as there really is only room for one in a telephone box.

They travel....nowhere, because poilce telephone boxes were rather heavy and tended not to move around.

They run off and investigate.....who sprayed those rather rude words on the side of that building over there.

They come up against their arch enemy......the hoodie.

The doctor and assistant ponder for a little while before.....calling the cops to deal with the situation.

The cops arrive and do nothing because the justice system we have is so utterly feeble.

Instead they arrest the doctor and charge him with paedophilia and travelling through time grooming children so that they grow up with a desire to go into his box with him

Second ep was well good tbh :D He's a good actor, doing well especially after David Tennant set the standard.

And she is FIT
 
I'm curious as to why tonight's episode on BBC HD is delayed nearly 2 hours over the BBC1 broadcast. If it's just because of some poxy football match, I'm not impressed!
