Doctor Who

i'm shocked that no-one's mentioned the new Sonic screwdriver yet. i think it looks AWESOME with it's green light, spoingy-ness (WITH CLAWS!) and bronzed colouring...

i'm planning to pop into town and buy the toy if i get the opportunity :D

I wonder if they work on girlfriends :D

Just a heads up, Doctor Who is on slightly earlier tonight at 18:00 hours though the episode looks like it's going to be a bit dull.

I wonder if there's any connection between the vampires and the alien in the first episode, they appear to have very similar teeth. Guess we'll find out shortly.

Were my eyes deciving me or in the preview of this week's vamp episode, is one of the vamps Olivia Coleman ?

If true, seems odd that she'd be in a couple of episodes within the same series.
Maybe she's the Pandoricum ? :)

Of course maybe my eyes WERE deceving me and I'm just spouting nonsense.
Move along... nothing to see here !!

Many people have had multiple roles within the show, for example Freema Agyeman played a part in the episode "Army of Ghosts".

Can't see mention of the actor you're on about though on IMDB for the upcoming episode.

Yeah, I know they reuse actors (between seasons), but doing it with the same one only 4 episodes apart ?
Sounds suspicious.

But yeah, I checked IMDB too and didn't see her, but the vamp with the gold ruff around her kneck does look a bit like Olivia....well..... a little :)

Eccleston...

I'm still amazed that some folks think he was better than Tennant. He looks like the type of chap who'd use his head to save people by nuttin' the culprits.

He was so much better than Tennant its untrue.

Tennants am dram caperings and stinky cheese and ham delivery are the sole reason I stopped watching Dr Who.
I like popping into this thread though, its about a million times more entertaining than the show in its current form, as the new guy they have drafted in, blimey dont get me started.

I caught the last ten minutes of that episode with the stone angels in last week, what a load of tosh.

The you missed the first amazing 70 minutes or so of the first episode and half of the second :p

Though I do agree with you about Eccleston being much better than Tennant.

what was with the terrible low quality effects on the sky?
I know, it was rather poor to say the least.

I found the whole episode mediocre. I facepalmed upon finding out that they weren't 'real' vampires, and rubbish looking aliens instead. They looked as poor as those green spikey humanoids in the last series.

I thought the aliens were pretty cool, much better than vampires. How annoying is Pond getting though, she's just too random as if the writers couldn't decide on what sort of character she was going to be so they're all going with their own different versions.

I swear the 'we are Venician' line just before the guy blew himself up was a homage to 300, cringeworthy bad :(.

Not the best of the season so far but not the worst either. The Deus Ex Machina endings can get a bit annoying sometimes.

Next weeks looks good :). Glad Rory will be sticking around for a few new episodes tbh, i think he'll make a nice foil for The Doctor.

Missed the first 15 minutes because they changed the time again...! Why can't they keep a standard time?! :(

Seemed ok, it was a lot better than most of the episodes in the later Tennant era but I don't like the fact they are going back to the badly done CGI aliens. Keep it more spooky and implied please!

Thought that was a terrible episode. As the series continues I find that there seems to be more bad/average episodes than good ones so far. Not quite what I had expected from this series.

Rory, the Mr bean comedy relief was very meh, and the Amy pond character continues to annoy.

What was with the queen alien thing taking her clothes off before jumping in the water anyway? Her clothes were part of the perception filter effect, so there wasn't actually any physically existing clothes for her to take off in the first place.

The plots make no sense some weeks, this was amongst the worst of the revived Doctor Who episodes I've seen.

Also I think Terry Pratchett had a point the other week, things are getting a little silly with "made up" solutions rather than reasoned ones.

Man that episode was utter drivel, so much so that i just minimised Iplayer at one point and started reading these forums. Characters are so muddled and confused.
They seem to give the Dr. the same retarded contrived "I am the doctor you will do what i say because im acting all hard and cliche except i look like a ponce" speech at least once per episode.

I keep forgetting this is a kids show...

Pretty poor episode. What was with the reflector thing that Pond used to shine sunlight onto the alien dude? When.. err.. the sky was covered in "clouds"? And how that girl who got taken at the beginning couldn't go out in the sunlight at one point... but then walks out normally when she's about to get killed. It was a complete mess!
