I'm just not sure what changing him now would achieve. There's nobody to take over who could realistically salvage anything this season.

It's better IMO just telling him that he's got 11 games to save his time there and let him get on with it. He can't relegate us and Champions League qualification is all but gone now bar a miracle. I don't think he'll make top four but stranger things have happened.

I'm also worried SAF will step out of retirement and unless he's willing to stay for at least another 2-3 years I don't want him back. This had to happen eventually and it's better to just get it over with rather than reset the process.

heard on bbc sports radio it's been confirmed by utd staff to be false nothing will change in personal or something was said

I don't think we'll sack him now, but a decision will have to be made before the summer transfer window opens.

It's all down to what the Glazers think, it looks as if at least 75% of the fanbase genuinely want him out - which isn't good, and he's got no realistic opportunity to turn it around.

The press are turning on him too, and he's already sick of them. An AVB style implosion could be on the cards.

I do think Moyes will be given at least until december after some signings.

The small comfort is that if the rumours are to be believed he at least seems to be targeting the correct people for the most problematic positions.

Failaini aside.

I don't trust him to get the best out of the likes of Mata, Gundogan, Vidal et al. even if he does sign the latter two. But I'm hoping the next manager can.

Only because fans like you don't support the manager. what do they call the crowd? 12th man eh? i can't see any of that from the united fans on here..

standard...

edit. fixed the quote for you..;):p

I wouldn't say that... aside from the players from teams in Portugal or similar, he seems to be targeting people such as:

Vidal - no chance
Pogba - extremely unlikely
Kroos - extremely unlikely
Gundogan - possibly, if Madrid don't want him, back injury a concern though

He/Woodward did well to get Mata, but Mata was a panic buy (a good one though), and isn't the kind of player Moyes knows how to use.

I've fully backed up everything I've said about Moyes, so perhaps read that before giving it the "you are a bad fan" attitude. It's boring. I'd love him to do well but so far he doesn't look up to the job at all.

Mate, you never the guy a chance, it's as simple as that...

Well regardless of who he gets or doesn't get out of the list above, they're all good players who could bring a lot to the team.

I do worry what will happen if he can't get any from his top list though, will we see another panic buy on the last day of the window?

Rubbish. I'm still giving him a chance until the board say otherwise, but what has he shown as proof he's up to the job? Extremely little.

I'm not whining for him to be sacked - more pointing out the negatives against the very few positives.

Go and read through my latest posts in the main Moyes thread if you're interested.

We might do, which is a worry. Hopefully they've got a lot of targets in mind so we should end up with some decent players one way or another.

Thing is Trusty - and I think Robbo will agree - is that none but the most deluded United fan expected us to win any trophies this year. That's fine - I have no problem with that at all. I don't even mind going out of the CL/FAC/LC early either.

But as I've said, I think the loss of CL football will affect us in the summer. Naturally, there are those who think the lure of the club and/or money will be enough - and I'd like for them to be right.

I also would like to see a sign - any sign - from Moyes that he is not absolutely drowning in the position. He has managed somehow to drain almost all the confidence from the team and (from what it looks like) lose the backing of the players.

If he can give me that sign in the last eleven games i'll happily admit I was wrong and back him completely. But I just can't get over the fact that it almost looks like Moyes has given up himself and is just staring down the proverbial barrel, wondering when someone will put him out of his misery. He looks to me like a defeated man.

I'm not having a pop at you btw :o :)

it's just some fans/media which has gone crazy in football, really really crazy. they are all over him at the mo, i feel sorry for the guy. it's expected obviously, the pressures of the job, but the fans and media really really make the situation worse. it's creates doubt, doubt is bad...very very bad. ;)

I completely agree. I'd love for him to do well, he's the last bastion of hope for British managers as well, but it just looks like he was the wrong appointment, in almost every sense. :(

If he's still here in the summer, I really hope he makes plenty of good signings and next season things improve. Top four is all I'd want.

Unless he's sat on RedCafe :p, the main interaction he has with the fans is inside the stadium, and they've backed him to the hilt, home and especially away. There were perhaps a few exceptions, but it's mostly been positive towards him.

How is he the last bastion of hope for British managers lol?

Well, perhaps not the last, but it doesn't look good if he fails horribly? It's something the press talk about a lot, that he "needs" to do well as he's British, etc.

How many British managers are managing in the Champions League at the moment, or will be at the World Cup?

There will be one there next year and there is that owl ****e at the WC.

Also I know Moyes is a winner and all but he was never any hope for British management, redknapp has won more bloody trophies

What are you talking about? Bona fide winner right here:

As for the Owl, I think he got the England job out of pity more than anything.
