I'm a bit behind in years with dnb but those artists making drumstep...
Am I on the right wavelength mind, cuz to me drumstep has a specific drum pattern and most of them boys used to make straight dnb, jump up to an extent i guess... Are they making drum and bass with the drumstep drum pattern now then? Basically sped up dubstep percussion? lol I need check some of their new stuff. Drumstep is ok but a bit of a fad IMO.
It also confuses the hell out of me too, Drumstep is just another name for 'Clownstep' but it's risen in popularity. It's just a Drum & Bass style beat over a half time bassline so it sounds like someone is playing Drum & Bass drums over a Dubstep bassline. That's how I see it anyway, there's so many subgenres now it's hard to point out what's what.
Dubstep has become the next Happy Hardcore, years ago EVERYTHING would get a Happy Hardcore DONK DONK DONK remix. Now everything is getting a WIBBLE WOBBLE BUZZ FART remix and I HATE IT.
