Dumb question but does upgrading your seal increase the amount of damage/the amount you healing you do from incantations?

In Caria Manor currently, God I hate those hands!!

Oh I agree wholeheartedly with this, another thing they do is put messages right at the base of a ladder so that when you run up to the ladder being chased by a mob, you cant climb the ladder because it just opens the message instead
Or on the action for a lever as well - so annoying. There should be no message zones around stuff like that.

I'm in the capital now. It is a great area.... However, I kind of think they've run out of steam a little in terms of encounters. I am walking around and basically been fighting mostly enemies from earlier and tbh there doesn't seem to be the usual thought behind it that From are usually great at. Maybe I'm overthinking it but wandering around the streets it's like "oh there's some rats, there are some marionette knights, there are some of those guys from Volcano Manor, there are some hand monsters from Carian Manor, haven't seen them in a while. One of those tree spirits, why not"

There are some new enemies but most just feel a bit off to me.

Took a break from gaming for a while, explored as much as I could stand on this character since release (110 hours) and now facing the final boss. I've got all achievements bar the alternative endings.

So I'm going to do Ranni's ending first as I've already done the full quest. On NG+ I'm gonna just sprint through to get the normal ending and then on NG++ I'll kill all merchants to get the madness ending. Once I've done that, time to start making PVP toons for some fun :D

Snowmen with trumpets though that fire bubbles because why not :D

I went right through the capital and completely missed that there was a huge underground area :)

Ended up using a larval tear and repected to a str/int build and the starscourge swords. Still trying to figure out what's the best ashes or spells to use for this build though. Any suggestions?

Finally got round to doing Stormveil, not a lot of gaming time lately.

They managed to put this complex, multi-level legacy "dungeon" with probably more verticality than Sekiro in this already huge open world and it flows so organically with the rest and oozes atmosphere.

From are completely untouchable when it comes to level design, I can only think of a few who are in the ballpark. If this keeps up, then this'll be one of the very rare cases when the reviews were more or less justified, though I'd never rate anything 10/10 myself.

The level design is just perfect, so many places have that little hidden ledge you missed that takes you to some complete different area. Ive played for 250 hours and today i found a dungeon with waterfalls and bats, it was terrifying!

So is this worth getting? Watched some on twitch and seems quite hard. Lots of dying etc Just wonder if i'll get bored of dying a lot lol.

I think I've finished most things there to do in the game now, but I can't even think about playing anything else. Just wandering around the map looking for new dungeons, trying out different weapons and ashes of war, collecting a few things I missed. Now running with fingerprint shield and rivers of blood and I feel much more robust and deadly than the build I finished the game with.

In answer to the question of whether it's worth getting... yes, there's lots of dying. No getting around that. Lots. It can be frustrating, but I would never say it's boring. I generally dislike the repetition in rogue-likes but I don't get that feeling from this game (or from other From games) even when I am marching forth for my 30th attempt on a boss. I definitely got Dr Strange vibes from one boss - "Malenia, I have come to bargain..." (I lost count in the end, but I reckon it was 30-35 attempts to kill that one)

The combat is tense and skill-based and there aren't any dull drawn-out boss phases that I can remember. Generally the bosses can kill you in seconds, or you them in a couple of minutes. It is going to feel difficult if you've not played any Dark Souls or similar games - surprisingly so at times. But, it seldom feels cheap or unfair (okay, so some grab attacks are a bit bovine excrement, but not many).

I agree with the comments about the atmosphere and world design. It's an absolute gem in that regard. I beat the final boss five days ago now and I still feel a bit empty without having it to play through, so I'm still bumbling around in the world (slightly aimlessly, really). It's been great, imo.

Just quit my game deep in to exploring an area I've not been to before, Shunning Grounds or something. Long way from the last grace(probably half an hour) got 180,000 runes. I already know I've made a mistake and when I boot it up tomorrow I'll be totally disoriented and will probably lose those runes within 5 minutes!

Tbh I was wandering around the capital for about 3 hours not able to work out where I was going. I could tell the direction I needed to go, I just couldn't work out how to get there.

The socalled legacy dungeons are absolutely incredible. Even without the open world there is enough content in them alone for a full souls game. And a very good one!

Imagine say 3 dlcs, each being just a new legacy dungeon. Where do I sign up?!

I see so many posts from people saying they lost 200k runes, and im like; Why!? if you have enough runes for a level spend them! This game will take everything you own, dont let it!

At 20h in, I aleady feel like I got my money's worth when there's so much more quality stuff to see. The world and lore alone would be worth full price and there's more to the game than that.

I was a bit sceptical about ER before release but it seems Miyazaki just can't make a bad game:p

Just wish it was better on the technical side, with better optimisation and also UW support out of the box so that people with such setups wouldn't be left out. Some people here refunded the game because of no UW and I understand that.

As for the DLC, if it happens they might indeed go with new legacy dungeons scattered about the world, would be great.
