*** Elden Ring ***

Have to disagree, I am by no way a DS expert but I have tanked all the games with strength and dex. I beat that last boss with the bloodhound fang, pretty sure they are resistant to bleed as well.
I'm talking about pure strength builds not str/dex hybrids. And yes fang is one of the best weapons in the game.

Finally beat the final boss! Re-specced a few times and settled on a faith/dex build and a level 10 Mimic. Theres a cool talisman in the snowy part that gives you health that you take off enemys. Nearly give up but I couldnt leave it with only him to beat so I stuck it out. Started new game plus now at level 152.

I finished it, went downstairs and put the new Horizon game on but after paying this I couldnt get into it. Started my second playthrough with dual +10 Bloodhound fangs and I want faith up to use that crazy laserbeam spell.

I didnt even know you can get 2 bloodhound fangs ! Must be some serious damage with 2 of them

In 30 years of playing videogames I have never finished a game and then started it over again. Everything about this game is just first class. The world, the monsters, the characters, the lore, the atmosphere...just *chefs kiss*. I played the life out of Bloodborne and DS3 but still never started a new game plus. I have a feeling I will be putting a lot more hours into this as well as the gameplay loop is so satisfying. Its not the same type of game but its similar to MGS5 in the way that the gameplay loop has me utterly hooked. As I mentioned before, I fired up the new Horizon game on the PS5 and it just felt meh. I will end up playing it and no doubt enjoying it but I wish I had played it first and anything else has too much to live up to at the moment.

Finally beat the final boss. I had to summon someone. I've played and completed all soulsbornes. Sometimes you just get this one boss that has your number. I could barely get past Radogan. Elden Beast was easy, problem was I only got to it 1 out of 4 times as I simply could not kill Radogan!

Everyone had types of bosses they struggle with and types they find easy. I've always found bigger bosses, like dragons for example easy but had trouble with magic bosses and ones with hard tells. I remember first time I played Dark Souls facing ridicule as I beat the Gargoyles first time but was complaining could not beat Moonlight Butterfly!

I am incredibly annoyed with myself as I started ng+ without thinking and didn't respec:mad: I wanted to try a strength faith build

As for the game, what can I say. A masterpiece. Not without its issues but definitely top tier.

Is it possible to start a new game+ but with only the items in your inventory? I fancy another playthrough, but not whilst at my end game level (140).

Ah yes agreed. Never actually been down a pure strength build before. I think the soft cap puts me of for using just one stat.

Yeah you can't just stack on stat in this game, I mean sure you can that you're making the game needlessly even harder. Most people end with some combination of two damage dealing stats, whether it's dex/arc or Int/dex or dex/faith or Int/faith or str/dex or str/faith etc

Because it's so easy to upgrade weapons and switch builds in this game it's the first souls game where I have no urge to do a 2nd playthrough with a new character, so I just started NG+ and switch from Int/Dex caster build to Dex/Arc bleed/rot build

This bleed rot build is stupidly OP

Not really, just a joke weapon for snek boss. if i was using spear id go for Vyke's, Naginata or Guardian's Swordspear(even though the last is classed as halberd).

ah cheers bud was just wondering as i put it up to +7 for the boss lol

main weap is a heavy claymore +20 sitting on 43 strength with it just got vigor up to 40 and 40 endurance with 20 dex, rest are all 10.

any ideas for a better weapon for my build?

Dont be afraid to use larval tears to respec, im at level 100 in my new play through and i have 10 of them, you should have a few by now. Plenty of strength weapons at your level but consider bleed or faith to add to them, bleed is very powerful and faith can grant you some powerful buffs. My first build was dex\faith and it was pretty powerful!
