*** Elden Ring ***

Dont be afraid to use larval tears to respec, im at level 100 in my new play through and i have 10 of them, you should have a few by now. Plenty of strength weapons at your level but consider bleed or faith to add to them, bleed is very powerful and faith can grant you some powerful buffs. My first build was dex\faith and it was pretty powerful!

some food for thought bud, cheers :)

think i just hit lvl 104 before coming out the game earlier, i believe i have quite a few of they tears, doing prety well with the build though apart from i realised a few nights ago i was so far ahead of what i should be area wise, i was in the secret snow place on giant place and beating up a lot of the inhabitants there, the invisible assasins proved to much, i was lvl 90 odd :)

i missed so many areas so using the odd guide to find a place such as volcano manor for example and the places that leads to and im finding whole dungeons/citys i missed :)

fire giant is a **** thats the boss im up to, got his health half down on the second attempt then figured i was a bit noobed and now im in volcano manor, main boss is done there but there is a nasty looking mini boss x2 :p

Just beat Rennala, very atmospheric fight but a bit too easy, was probably quite overlevelled at 53?

Time to wrap up Raya Lucaria, probably plenty of stuff I missed.

Yeah you can't just stack on stat in this game, I mean sure you can that you're making the game needlessly even harder. Most people end with some combination of two damage dealing stats, whether it's dex/arc or Int/dex or dex/faith or Int/faith or str/dex or str/faith etc

Because it's so easy to upgrade weapons and switch builds in this game it's the first souls game where I have no urge to do a 2nd playthrough with a new character, so I just started NG+ and switch from Int/Dex caster build to Dex/Arc bleed/rot build

This bleed rot build is stupidly OP

My second playthrough Im Dex/faith with a bit in arcane. Obvs a huge part of my build is bleed now but what are you using to bring rot into that?

Im switching between blasphemous blade +10 and dual bloodhound at the moment. Wonderous physic to give you free FP/damage dealt equals HP for you and hit them with the Blas blade special move which heals you as well. Makes you invincible pretty much.

I have tried a few new weapons, but without changing my build I have to stick with int/dex so I am a bit limited. I have tried a couple of daggers but the moveset is so different to Moonlight Greatsword. I will at least stick with that until I get to renala I think.

Huge amount of balance changes. Hopefully people will experiment more rather than using the same handful of weapons and spells, gets a bit boring with invasions / getting invaded and its always Moonveils and Rivers of Blood. They're both great weapons, but there's loads of other stuff that can compete in the right hands.

As I can't respec until renala, I have switched it up a bit. My first playthrough was sorcerer ending up with 70int using fully upgraded Azurs staff in left hand and Darkmoon Greatsword in the right hand. I've moved from the DM greatsword to the Wing of Astel with a shield. Though I do still have them equipped. Everyone was saying how good guard counters are but as a mage I never did one. Nice to play a soulslike with a shield again. Haven't done in years.

Wing of Astel is underrated. Weapon art is great.

NG+ is going as expected. Done it enough times in Souls games to know it lulls you in to thinking it is easy then you'll hit a wall and, find it impossible. In DS1 I could not get past the Sanctuary Guardian in ng+ but found everything up to it fairly easy.

seems like the latest patch broke something for me, if im playing on my tv with that set as main device and extended to my pc monitor. i could before bring up the menu or map screen and freely scroll my mouse over to the monitor and do stuff look up stuff etc

seems i cant do that any more, the mouse wont lose focus from the game like it used to when a menu is up.

I thought I had explored this game pretty well after 115 hours, including mopping up some things are completing it. Yet, last night I was watching one of my kids play for a while and he was in an area I'd never even seen, fighting a boss I never knew existed. It looked a tough one, and it was great seeing his reading of attacks and tactics change as he learned their moveset before finally getting him.

Even after finishing it, my fondness for this game keeps growing...

I finished the game and was not aware of the whole area under the capital. Adds a nice little something to look forward on my my NG+ run I'm doing but its crazy how there are huge parts of this game you can completely miss altogether.

Even Blaidd, If I had not read that you need to click your fingers when you see him perched atop of some ruins...there is no way in the world I would have thought to do that?!

You can still encounter Blaidd later on in the game even if you miss that step in Limgrave, the quest line he is apart of progresses all the same.

Most quests in the game are structured like this, there's only a handful that you can lock yourself out of via progression.

Yeah its odd that you hear him howling and then by chance if you talk to Kale he will remark about it and give you the finger snap emote to draw Blaidd out.....its random but hey thats From for you :)

Ah! I cant remember being given the finger snap which makes sense now. I think its because i did so much between getting the finger snap emote and actually using it I had no idea why I had it at that point. You really do need a pen and pad to make progress notes on people you meet and talk to and its not ashamed of itself that that's just how it is.

I've finally beaten Maliketh so now that's just the last two main bosses to go. I think try Malenia first as apparently she is the hardest boss in the game.
The game is absolutely epic.
