English & CL Football [6th - 10th Mar 2010] **spoilers**

Manchester United and Chelsea took Arsenal apart a few weeks ago. They looked the better side by a really big margin. :p

Aye, well we'll know for sure in a few months who is the best side in the league and none of us will be able to disagree with that final table :)

imo, I doubt that, I think a lot of teams would crumble playing away to A.C. Milan.

tbf Portsmouth should have hammered them and they only had half a team out due to a ridiculous amount of injuries. I seem to remember the likes of Traore (the reject Arsenal LB) and Kanu running riot. That should never happen, ever, we don't even see that in their domestic games!

I'm willing to bet there still will be people bitter come the end of the season ;)

Always is.

Pompy just upped their game, Teams do it against bigger teams. How often do you see it in the F.A. Cup?

Kanu is like 45 :D

Of course there's going to be some bitter people, I'd imagine more than regularly this season since it's so close and the fans of the two losing sides will be replaying those stupid moments all season where they got a draw instead of a win etc. which decides the title.

People being bitter just shows they care about who wins the league :D

United win = Liverpool fans are upset, Arsenal and Cheslea bitter.
Arsenal win = United and Chelsea bitter.
Chelsea win = Everyone is bitter at them buying a title :p

What a result last night! That was a perfect team performance, I had worries about Neville versus Ronaldinho but Neville carried out the perfect gameplan. Rooney's second goal was just lovely, perfectly weighted ball from Nani on the left from the outside of his foot and Rooney's finish was sublime. Park took his goal really well, really glad to see him putting away chances like that. Valencia again, Mr Consistent, puts in a shift defensively, offensively always threatening to pick out a pass or make a run and always looking forward, never backwards.

Vidic and Ferdinand, how great is was to see them together. :D Lots of players hitting good form and at this stage of the season it couldn't be any better. Giggs is due back soon which will be a massive plus. As harsh as it sounds, I'm ruling Hargreaves out of this season completely. I just don't see him playing regardless of what is being reported. His 'comeback' will continually be put back until the season ends.

valencia was terrible going forward though...i thinl he botched every attack he was heavily involved in, usually shooting for an obviously tight angle, or simply running the ball off the pitch trying to beat a man...

park did well, lots of hustle...

very commtted defending from rio and vidic. was good to see.

Yes I was watching the match, only one I can remember where he even came close was when he did that clever back heel and won a corner off Jankulovski. Regardless, even if he did it once it hardly means he "usually did it" does it?

well he had the ball about 3-4 times in the box, missed at least one or two and ran the other off the pitch... so out of 4 times he went wrong 3... for me thats more usual than UNUSUAL?

I disagree, he won several corners and got quite a few crosses in (I think Rooney went close from one of his before the first goal) I'm genuinely shocked if you think he played badly last night.

yea usually i slate Park but although park wasnt disasterous, he was better than Valencia.

one lucky backheel that almost didnt go out for a corner cannot turn his match rating around im afraid!

That wasn't lucky in the slightest. I don't think Park was better than him (although he took his goal damn well) His movement was excellent but his first touch let him down so many times.

it was lucky that it was given because the whole of the ball barely crossed the line.

well Park's first touch is always terrible because he isnt a technically gifted player.

Valencia played well first leg... played very badly 2nd leg...

The whole ball crossed the line for that corner. There was nothing remotely lucky about it, Valencia intentionally played for the corner.
