Escape from Tarkov

Can't believe I didn't get a code. Was looking forward to this, been following since day one.:(
Anyone gets a spare code it would be really appreciated. Trust is working.

watched a few videos of this. What is to stop swathes of players just camping the exit zones? A lot of videos ive seen players basically just do this.

Apart from that looks quite good. Wouldnt mind preordering it to try the beta then cancelling if i dont like it (ie paypal reversal)

Been watching it for a long time, but don't think I'll touch it until it finally releases on Steam. Looks quite graphically demanding for one thing, and Russian developers that don't like giving refunds puts me off for the time being. That and the absurd cost of the game and the different "tiers" you can buy.

That used to be a bit of an issue much less so now as the latest patch introduced dynamic spawns and exits (and increased the amount of exits)

Now you can pick where you spawn in (if you have the level map) and then you will be given 3-4 different exit options. Some are open all the time, some are timed, some you have to pay to use.

Note there's no refunds, I'd wait for the open beta if you're interested. The open beta will also include a new map - Interchange

looks amazing - complete with an ikea!

Looks good but what is with the "glow" around so many objects? I can't put my finger on it but I hope you know what I mean. Slightly shiny in a way?

Yeah I do, it looks fine in game but screenshots do tend to be very 'bloomy' (great technical term there) perhaps the unity game engine?

Yeah but what if I spawn in and find an open exit I can just hide near there and let the peons do the work finding goodies and I take them out. Do dead bodies disappear after X amount of time? (if they don't then gives clue to exiteer bad man is nearby haha)

Or does the exit have a bit of rng. That is, it will be open for 5 minutes then dissappear and use rng to appear somewhere else on the map? That would stop camping at them maybe?

You could do that, it's a tactic after all :D however, it would have to be an exit that you can use and there's no guarantee anyone else would use it, each raid is on average 50mins so it's likely you'd be waiting for a long time for no reason!

The stuff you can add just to one gun is amazing, so in depth, i love that, just some below.

Well I bought and downloaded today, only the standard pack as I don't see the point paying for extra things you can get in-game anyway.

Gave it a shot, Christ this game is brutal. Jumped into an offline PVE on factory just to get the hang of some of the controls and mechanics, and that was alright. Jumped into online as a scav and that was terrifying. Certainly brings back that anxiety and tension that DayZ had when I first played that many years ago.

Need to tinker with settings a bit. Started off at 1080p all low on my 1440p monitor with a 970 and it's quite hard to actually identify anything not directly in front of me. The gap in gear is huge though, I can see why some people will have dumped money into this for the better "starting" equipment. Going to take some time (when I'm more with it and less tired) to get my head round everything; but definitely good fun so far with other people. Not sure how I feel about solo play for now...

The biggest frustration for me with the standard edition was the lack of storage space in your stash. It soon becomes a big hinderance, especially when you need 30 cans of meat for one mission!

I have the EOD now and the differences in gear are not all that to be honest, the kiver and fort armour (arguably the biggest difference) are required for Skiers first quest so I imagine most will give them straight away.

I am really liking the changes to the spawn/extraction, it's changed the dynamic of the raids for me.
