Escape from Tarkov

I just had a couple of awesome games in Tarkov. Was a SCAV with the long barrel 12 gauge with 4 rounds. Heard a PMC running next to me. Turned to intercept him, unloaded 4 rounds and downed him. Went to the nearest bush to survey the area and reload. About 5 seconds later I can hear his teammate run up the hill for backup. Decided surprise would befit the moment. He didn't even see me as I unloaded on him. Scored two silenced SKS's with 4/24 scopes. I love that weapon. So quiet and precise! Awesome how realistic the scopes are. Game is pretty dang addictive for us tactical/sneaky types.

Had a few good runs last night as a duo. Managed to grab a decently kitted M4, AKM and -74N.

Been using a modded AKS that I looted off a player a few days ago and it's been very good to me so far, haven't dared taking one of the M4s out and probably won't until I do a couple more four / five player runs.

Not a massive fan of the magnified optics, the sensitivity makes it feel incredibly weird in addition to the pixelation.

If you have done some real shooting, the optics are the most realistic I've seen in a game. Love the eye relief effect. 4/5 players? I take good stuff out solo lol.

Love the loot stories :)

I had the worst night last night and lost a lot of good gear, was rushing too much instead of playing the slow sneaky method I usually use.

But that's what I love about this game, it can be very frustrating at times but it makes you want to go back in and correct your mistakes. And that feeling of escaping with some sweet sweet loot ..... Soooooo good :D

Ya rushing can be very dangerous. The defender has a distinct advantage, as in real life.
Aside from the fact there is a huge peakers' advantage to this...

I lost two good sets of gear tonight. First one thanks to some horrific network lag in the dorms. Second I had a hard lock and crash just as we start engaging another group. I called it quits after that

If you’re decent then being aggressive is by far the best tactic on this game. You won’t see many of the best players camping... some of them literally treat it like COD, just legging it about hip firing everything in sight. The devs have apparantly said they intend to eventually try and slow down gameplay like this, make it harder and clunkier to turn quickly etc.

Well, sigh. I thought I had found a game I could really get into.
Decided to kit up really well, headed into the shore. Took out all the visible SCAV's around Rock Passage. Was crossing the small bridge over the stream by Rock passage. My screen starts to shake and blur as I cross the bridge. Absolute silence. I thought maybe I hit some barb wire or something, continue across, screen still shaking and blurring, now screen is getting blood splatter. Still absolute silence. I'm like what the HECK is going on, make it behind some cover. Still absolute silence. Right before I died, I see a SCAV hiding behind some cover and threw a silent grenade to finish me off. I'm like you've got to be kidding me... lost all that gear to a SCAV shooting me and throwing grenades with zero noise.
Then re-kit, do another game/dserver. Came across SCAVs that were standing still. Shot them in the head, zero damage. Started to walk away, no SCAVs near me, silence. It happens again. Screen shakes, blurs. Another silent death.
I know the game was in Beta but this is game breaking bad... Absolutely no point in playing.

Well,my experience tells me to not put to many hours in Betas,as it will be wiped out anyway..Im just generally testing, exploring maps etc.
Untill full release, your lost gear has 0 importance.Sure its nice to have nice gear, but hey - cant expect Beta working ok'ish. Now if we going to have similar problems after full release, then its a problem.

Going to be quite some time until the next wipe apparently, saw 6 months mentioned by one streamer (who has links to devs)

They are stress testing servers at the moment, hence various issues like this. When it wasn't being stress tested prior to public beta it was pretty stable with minimal desync etc.

You're expectations for unfinished games seem too high in general based on this and the pubg thread. With pubg I can kind of understand the frustration as it's now a huge title with a dev team who at this point must surely have a huge budget. However Tarkov is some weird little bumblesquat game from some unknown Russian devs, this kind of stuff should be expected.

Finally got 2 scopes i wanted, and they both dropped from 1 green box, geared player running for same box,i just hid behind corner, when he started looting same box i just pew pew :D Sadly i met group of 4 after,so all loot gone bar those 2 scopes. They really need to sort groups vs solo thing

The won't sepperate solos and groups, they've said it afew times.

I don't really mind it, really adds to the tension. Does seem silly though that a map has a max of 7 players and 5 of them can be in one group ....

Yes, it is really stupid. But I haven't seen it done much. How boring would that be running around in a group of 5 killing off the odd solo PMC and SCAV. I've seen duo's a lot.

Three games now I've died from a single shotgun blast insta death from 20+ meters away in the factory. I'm seriously getting sick of this crap. Makes the PUBG horrid netcode and RNG seem tame.
