EVGA UK RMA centre announced

Very happy with mine as well, ASIC quality on this one is 83.5% compared to my RMA'd card which was 65%. Can anyone suggest a fan curve for a 980ti? Wanna try and keep temps down the best I can until I get advice on some new case fans.

Me personally do set the fan courve right away to 50% till 60 degree and 60% till 70degree and if it hit the 80s go to 65% but this is pretty aggressive and louder then usual. Just play a little bit with the settings and see what fits best for your needs. As long as the card is under full load not going beond 85 degree its fine but of course, the cooler the better :)

For max cooling it is also worth to change the TIM on the card, this is no probl with the warranty. The TIM used is a very good standard but on the aftermarket you can probably get better ones...

What about Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra, will that do...?
I know it should, just wanna be sure.

Risky on a Gpu , in fact its risky on anything, if any seeps out onto the pcb you'll fry it, and its a large area to cover, i've used the stuff on de-lids but i wouldn't use it on anything else.

Thanks man, good thing I haven't bought it yet.
Can anybody recommend a good tim..?

I'm currently using the default profile, does this look okay guys? It's got my temps down to something I'm happy with and I can barely hear the fans if at all on the desktop. :)

I would say if you are happy with the noise level and the card is running cool you have the perfect profile :)
Because of the TIM, I would always suggest to use non conductive one as it is really a risk using them.

Spikey nice one on getting a nice card back, your temps should be fine mate on just auto but if you really want to run a profile that looks great what you setup there.

I just use the auto settings where it does not run the fan till it hits 60c+. Mine idles really low anyways so should yours now too as the last one you had was clearly not right. Hope you're enjoying the card now :D and great service as always from EVGA, nice one guys that's why from now on you will get my purchases for graphics cards, motherboards too if they start competing with some of the top end boards from other manufacturers (some of the components on the EVGA motherboards are not too great sadly compared to some of the other brands, especially like the capacitors, chokes, internal connectors are a mess some are up and some are right angled right next to each other, IO back-plates are the standard silver type and should be black now with coloured areas for the text for the USB, Ethernet etc ) motherboards need a bit of work and thought like the great in house boards for you graphics cards.

New case fans, get the Be-Quiet ones mate they are all great in their range, only case fans I will use now and they last ages before they go wrong and if they do they replace them no questions asked with their 3 year warranty. Only fans I will use now in my case and work cases. Totally fab products and I have been threw many good quality fans over the years and these and the Enermax magma range were the only ones for cases that made me go wow, Enermax were so easy to clean the fan comes right off and glides over the magnets, so all you do is wash them under the tap and dry them and pop them back on. So really depends what you want, I have fan filters on my case now and don't worry too much about pulling the fans out, just clean the filter and air can to blow out any dust on the fans.

Just popped in here to say thanks to EVGA for their excellent service, i sent my 780Ti back under warranty last Monday as it was broken, they sent me a 980 SC back from Germany which i have just received. :D

Bonus! Time to update that sig!

It's great to see UK support

Update:
Sorry for lack of update, still waiting for the cards to be delivered. UPS tracking says they're out for delivery (ETA by end of day). I'm still at work but luckily the GF agreed to stay at home for the parcel so hopefully it should be waiting for me when I get back tonight.

Will keep you posted. :-)

Edit:

oohh, it's arrived..
Now counting the hours before home time..

Thanks mate, I was considering the Corsair AF Fan's for the case, have you tried them?

Nice one mate, let me know how it is. Mine's been hammered for a week and has been 100% fine, very impressed with EVGA in all honesty.

Update:

Well, let's just say it's at all not what I expected.
Package was well packed with lots of protective material.
The Asic qualities of the cards are 79.9% and 81.9% (the highest I've ever had in my hands), and that's about the good part.

First, you can definitely tell when you take the cards out of the protective material that these were refurbished cards, but not really a deal breaker. I was kinda expecting brand new ones but still OK.

Second, the fan shroud/enclosure of one of the cards really looked flimsy. Like it wasn't really put back together properly or in a hurry, still not a deal breaker but makes you kinda worry about other things.

So moving on to testing...
I tested the cards separately and each one seemed ok initially. The fans were not loud, the temps were ok, in short they worked fine when not under load. The Asic quality I was particularly excited about.

Fired up MSI afterburner, no overclocking or anything, just to monitor values and stuff. Fired up Dying Light and I swear just a few mins (under 3 mins) after the game scene loads (after clicking on Continue that is), I could hear the fans going loud, I looked at the temperature and it was hovering around 85-90C, within 3 mins. One of the card's fans was spinning so fast it started rattling.
I quickly stopped the game and back in the windows screen, the temps went back down quickly, so I know the heatsink and fans are doing their jobs properly. I fired up WatchDogs, same thing. Took cards out, re-seated them, tried again and still the same result. Note that I had to do this for both cards, not really how you want to spend a Monday evening after coming back from work and you just want to chill with the family.

This was the same result for both cards, which means I couldn't properly test the cards properly for fear of doing any damage. I took off the backplate of one of the cards and lets just say I was disappointed.

After I saw the heat warping and what looks like burnt residue, I really couldn't be bothered any more and I just put the backplate back on and put both cards back in the parcel box they came with, I have no inclination nor time to try and fiddle around with it in order to try and salvage them. I was just hoping for something that worked right out of the box.

I've emailed dominik to let him know so hopefully he'll be able to sort this out. I've also opened another ticket with EVGA, still waiting for response (but that was only last night just before bed).
