Good riddance to Tim Farron. I don't usually mind the Lib Dems but he was not the person to take them forward.
Sounds very wrong to me. It seems like he may really be against homosexuality and cannot do a job where he is expected to be tolerant of it.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40281300
His claim is he can't reconcile what he would need to do continuing as a politician with his faith.
Vince Cable incoming? I might actually consider voting LD next time if so, will see how it pans out and what positions they take in key issues!Good riddance to Tim Farron. I don't usually mind the Lib Dems but he was not the person to take them forward.

Yes it's not a very modern viewpoint, and a terrible one for a politician to have. Of course it looks like we are going to get 10 gay hating MP's propping up the government soon.Sounds very wrong to me. It seems like he may really be against homosexuality and cannot do a job where he is expected to be tolerant of it.
So what is it about his faith that is not reconcilable with being a politician? He's already said he isn't against homosexuality.
His best mate is gay.
Tory mentality there - thinking they are better than everyone else - and they don't care about people.
Why is Tim Farron resigning?
A bit like, "I'm not racist, I've got a black mate!"He's already said he isn't against homosexuality.
His best mate is gay.
So what is it about his faith that is not reconcilable with being a politician?
Also, has Farron just opened the gates for a lib/con coalition?
Dispose of May and create a coalition with a second EU referendum as the bargaining chip?

LD would potentially provide a sane counterbalance to May's authoritarian tendencies.Definitely an interesting one - I can see other Lib Dems a little less resistant to a coalition.
