explain why Bodybuilding isn't gay

depends if they're between me an the door or me and the bar, as dammed if I'm abandoning my pint!

Good lad, I'll be sure to raise a glass to you while you're recovering.

I have presented a well thought out argument here with a list of facts that you can research for yourself. I solicited for reasonable counter-arguments to explain how it is NOT gay, because I am open-minded to debate. All I have received is homophobically racist insults, calls for locks and bans, and other rubbish. In 11 pages I am yet to receive ANY logical counter-arguments.

You've yet to present any argument to suggest it matters in the least whether it is "gay" or not. You do that and furthermore provide me with a reason why I should care about your claim about the sexuality of bodybuilding then we might be getting somewhere.

I think any neutral third party observers would agree I have "won" this thread.

In a way I agree with you, you've won in that you are clearly trolling and you've solicited plenty of responses.

He's got a point though - if you walked into a room and saw an almost naked bloke covered in fake tan doing poses on stage, your initial thought would probably be "gay". The only difference here is the "bodybuilding competition" sign above the door and that all the contestants are overly muscular and dehydrated.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA :p

You could almost pull it off in SC btw ;)

But you have in no way 'won' this thread.

:D

Subjective argument is subjective.

But most gay men are effeminate like women, most women don't like competion standard bodybuilders. So why would most gay men think that it's a good thing?

The only people who would think it's gay would be men who are overly keen to state that they themselves are not gay.

Walking into the showers after a rugby game, lots of naked men, lathering themselves with soap, the last thing I feel is that this is a homoerotic experience or in any way "gay".

Neither would I feel seeing a man posing on stage as gay - in fact it takes a lot of guts to have the confidence in yourself and your body to do it - I couldn't do it and have no want to do it either! That notwithstanding I wouldn't think "OMG gay!" - if I didn't know it was a BB competition, I'd be a little bit curious as to what was happening, but I wouldn't immediately put my back to the wall.

HE IS BETTER THAN YOU!

Powerlifters are not all fat, body builders are not all gay.

Simple as.

I powerlift, I'm hardly fat as some members here can attest to. Hell a forum search can prove that aswell.

Here's a very simple logical counter-argument to your not really very logical argument that has already been answered:

Bodybuilding is not gay because it isn't sex between people of the same sex.

Eh? Why is he better than me? Better at what? Looking like a gayor? OK he wins, but what else? Oh yeah he wins at being friends with a Mark Ripptoe and Jim Wendler, no biggie, I've never heard of them, I win at knowing Dave the Snake, and Mickey Bangbang. You need to stay off the steroids sonny.

haha, its funny because you think he looks gay. Muscles = Gay? Bold = Gay? Which one? I dont get it, Am i missing a ***** in the picture or something?

But most gay men are effeminate like women,

Your initial predicate is false, so conclusions you draw from it are false.

Most gay men are average. Which isn't really a surprise. It's mainly a false negative thing - gay men who are in the normal range of masculinity/femininity for men are often casually assumed to be not gay.

I've got something useful from this thread - I've been watching powerlifting videos and that's passed some spare time. I had no idea a person could lift about a middling-sized horse worth of weight.

No, it's not wrong. My statement was from my own experience of gay men, should I have said 'in my experience' for you?
