FFS think I've been done for speeding AGAIN.. HELP!

The_Dark_Side said:
well, if that's the case then it will be more difficult for you to stick to 30mph (if that's what you're trying to do of course.).it's an unusual characteristic of your vehicle but one that doesn't affect the majority of drivers though.
even so as you're aware of this "issue" then i'd bet you pay more attention because of this in a camera populated 30 zone and i'd be surprised if you're speed varied by more than +/-2mph indicated (which would still mean you were actually either on the limit or slightly under anyway.

lol, like I said, it doesn't add much to the topic, more of an observation :D

The only thing i can suggest is write the letter out that was in loaded a couple of months ago regarding replying to the NIP, which i assume is the pace thing you are referring too:

[INSERT THEIR REFERENCE NUMBER HERE]
[INSERT YOU REGISTRATION NUMBER HERE]

Dear Chief Constable,

Further to the notice of Intended Prosecution I confirm that the following individual was driving the above vehicle at the time of the alleged offence.

[INSERT ALL THE DETAILS ASKED FOR ON THE NIP HERE, INCLUDING NAME, ADDRESS D.O.B AND DRIVER NUMBER]

As this statement is provided under the threat of criminal penalty (Funke v france) and as i have not received the caution required by paragraph 10.1 of the PACE Code C (mawdesley V the Chief constable of cheshire (2004), I make this statement on the express understanding that it shall not be used or disclosed in any proceedings of whatever nature agaisnt myself.

Yours Sincerely,

IIRC you owned an amazon or an 1800 Volvo when i first began reading this stuff, that's why i made the Volvo connection.

and i don't ignore anyones posts, even from members with whom i consistantly disagree with. :D

God knows, had a couple of saabs, but no volvo's :)
someone was definitely on about Volvo P1800's around the time i started noticing various members. i'd have put money on it being you though  .
hey, who knew?

slightly OT but Saab owners tend to stick with the brand. you hooked?

Just to point out theres no point in delaying it as points are added retrospectively

Quoted for the truth of it. Stall all you like but they go on from the date of the offense not the date a judgment is made so while you may take longer to deal with from a process pov you won't benefit.

I would because until I'm convicted my licence is clean so i don't have to tell my insurance and I can't be banned for totting up (although I'm already driving like a saint).

For example if I hung it out for 6 months (highly unlikely) then the points are added retrospectively then thats a 6th of the term that has been served almost "on bail".

I have 6 points already, 1 sp30 in oct 2005 for 39 in a 30, 1 sp 30 in feb 2006 for 85 in a 70 (A417 in glos if anyone knows it, yet another arrow straight dual carriageway through the middle of nowhere).

So I'm facing 9 points and the brink of a ban until next October when 3 come off and obviously another 3 quickly after that.

Unless I'm mistaken those points points aren't leaving you till oct 2009 & feb 2010

4 Years minimum on all endorsements

Not me, I do love the looks of a P1800 though, but never owned one, and never thought of buying one (unless an LS1 fits under the hood....Hmmmm ;))

Not hooked at all, started with a 900 and it was a decent cruiser, saw a gorgeous (imo) yellow HOT 93 coupe in the showroom while mine was in for some work and had to have it. I loved it, even if it did like to torque steer a bit. I bought this last one as I quickly needed some wheels and figured that I wouldn't go far wrong with a new style 93 aero.

Sadly I was wrong. The build quality is shocking, the soft touch plastics have all but given up the soft touch coating, there is a new rattle or squeak daily and some parts of the external trim simply do not fit. However, it's fairly quick, I suppose (especially with the 250hp PPC upgrade fitted, shame the autobox can only handle another 12Nm of torque before it goes bang, effectively putting a stop to any more tuning potential) and it has comfortable seats. It'll do for a year or so, until I can afford something better :)

i've really confused myself here. someone must have been talking about the Volvo around the same time i started paying attention to the forums.

my problem with Saabs is they seem to suffer badly from torque steer and can really be a handful especially in the wet.

FWIW, what i forgot to say in my previous post was that while there are some threads that end up with posts by scores of members, there are certain members whos posts i always make a point of reading...yours being one of them.
basically because they're always worth reading IMHO.

I take it you missed the part of your insurance declaration where it says 'Including PENDING Convictions' then?
That is something to watch out for. Quite luckily for me, Bell don't want to know until policy renewal - so one really must check!

Hope it all goes well matt100. I think everyone here knows my view on "speeding" ;)
