Small pea (garden pea)... if ya do it like a marrowfat pea it squishes over the edges when it compresses

How far down are the screws meant to go in? I think all four are in but they keep spinning but it's like they shouldn't go any further.

I can't tell if it's actually on the CPU though

I can just about see some paste that has slide over the side slightly on one side, can't see it at all on any other side

I do that for Intel chips bit bit ds quite a bit bigger on ryzen

should have got a pic of a good pea size and a ruler haha

Easy solution, unmount , wipe off the paste on cooler and remount . Should make contact with rest of paste there

I only had that one tiny tube of paste which is now empty.

Ah no I can definitely see it on each side poking out slightly. Not sure if it's got to the corners though

Really?! How small are the peas you're talking about? That definitely wasn't small peas sized!
What do you recommend I do? Take it out and scrub some off??

The tube isn't fully empty yet sorry, the squeezer can go a bit further in

Would unmount, wipe paste off cooler , any that spilled and remount. Leave paste on cpu

Okay have done that and screwed each screw in until it clicked once. Seemed a better amount on there this time and it had gone all over, some areas were thicker than others though

Idle temps will be high.. soon as your real a bench program or stress test hitting 90c plus...

When you boot into the BIOS for the first time - monitor the temps as soon as you're in.
