Slightly knee-jerk reaction. Yes in recent seasons Arbeloa's tailed off towards the end of the season but other than today, i can't think of many times he's let us down. Similarly with Aurelio, he's been the model of consistency up untill the first leg of the Chelsea tie and today. We do need a rb to compete with Arbeloa though and would only need another cb if Agger leaves.

Regarding Insua, imo he's ready now and i wouldn't be suprised at all if he's first choice next season with Aurelio his cover.

Re Arby - His defending in the last 15 mins of games has been pretty dire since just after the second RM game although going forward has improved a lot. Leaking goals doesnt win games however - its not co-incidence that all teams exploit our right flank in the second half of games. My honest oppinion, Kuyt is playing a lot more of an attacking and wide targetman role this season, and doesnt cover the right half as mutch compared to last season .. its really allowing arby's defensive problems at the end of games stand out, as previously he always had el-kuytinho (:p) to cover his back.

Re CB - i rate agger as our best CB, Skrtel is really, really good.. but he doesnt offer what agger does as an overall player.
Carra's past it, Skrtel cannot fill that second place .. neither him or Agger are a leader on the pitch, we had Hyypia and then Carra to command the back line .. for the first time in quite a while i cant see where our next ones gonna come from :(


Re - Aurelio, injury prone and aging, my wanting a replacement (Sorry, i dont think Insua is ready for about another season or so) has nothing to do with his performance over 2 games (Well, a little :p), i dont rate Doss at all, and pretty soon Insua will be launched into the problem we have now at RB .. no competition, no cover.

I don't believe Carra is past it, in fact i think he's been our best cb this season and i do think that Skrtel-Agger could be a partnership made in heaven. Regarding the leadership of the backline i think that's something that will come in time and Agger does do to an extent.

I agree about Dossena and Aurelio's injury problems but i do think Insua's ready and i think he's shown that already. As previously, we need another rb and hopefully we'll get an improvement on Arbeloa as it's certainly a position we can improve on but i don't think he's let us down this season.
 
I am not entirely sure that Agger will be at Liverpool after the summer, I just seem to get the impression that he doesnt really want to stay. Frankly I am fully expecting him to go in the summer.

I agree on Insua, I think he is ready for a proper season as first choice. I would also like to see another RB, would also like to see a decent winger with good crossing ability.

Oh...and I would also like to see Babel shoved off somewhere. Completely run out of patience with him.
 
It's looking as if Agger's going to be given more game time towards the end of the season (probably every game barring injury, suspension or really poor form) and he'll sign his deal imo.

What the Funk was Luc-ass going or ever going to do? Are you insane rafa?

Could you imagine Fergie needing to score a last desperate goal to win a match and bringing on kuyt or luc-ass? Man they would not even make it as **** house cleaners at old traffurd.

Ditch your loverboy and your defensive tactics rafa and we may have a realistic chance next season.
 
Not so sure about defensive tactics, I mean we have scored more goals in the league this year than any other team. Not particularly something you would attribute to a defensively minded operation.
 
Don't listen to him. He only posts if we don't win and says the same nonsense everytime. I really wouldn't be suprised if he was actually a manc on the wind up.

Sky+'d the game tonight, just watching Arsenal's 4th goal. Arshavin absolutely motors through. Unreal the determination there! Its quite funny watching his little body running, head down not even looking at Walcott, putting absolutely everything into the run!
 
Also, when Fabregas went through in the 96th minute and got given offside, I've got it here in front of me now... He wasn't. They didn't show any replays of that during the game as it was right at the end. But he is absolutely level.

Irrelevant anyway.
