Update!

I was going to do a big update, but then the winter update was finally released (seriously SI!) and I started a new game :cool:.

Sheffield Wednesday! :cool:.

Firstly, great to have an updated club squads however there are some criminally underrated players in the Wednesday side (and Championship in general, including some managers), SI seem unwilling to change much in the Championship.

So... Transfer update;

Transfers In;
Sebastián Driussi - Club Atlético River Plate - £4'000'000
Andrija Zivkovic - FK Partizan Beograd - £2,500,000
Emanuel Mammana - Club Atlético River Plate - £3,500,000
Rico Henry - Walsall - £3,000,000
Guillermo Varela - Manchester United - £750,000

Total - £13, 750,000

Transfers Out;
Jérémy Hélan - FC Luzern - £500,000
Liam Palmer - Middlesbrough - £500,000
Caolan Lavery - Heart Of Midlothian - £100,000
José Semedo - Dundee United - £150,000
Atdhe Nuhiu - Wolverhampton Wanderers - £1,500,000

Total - £2,750,000

Álex López, Aiden McGeady, Daniel Pudil, Joe Bennett, Michael Turner, and Vincent Sasso all had their loans terminated.

I now have a small squad, 23 players, bumped George Hirst and Will De Havilland up to the first team squad.

So far; Played 16 games in the League - Won 13, Drawn 2, Lost 1 - Scored 46 goals, Conceded 13.

Going strong in the League Cup - 0:8 away at Mansfield was a spectacular start (Only my Goalkeeper from my first team played in this match), and in the Fourth round 2:6 away at Watford :cool:. Have drawn Manchester United away in the next round!

Playing a 4-2-3-1, attacking, possession based football. Going super well.

Interested to see your tactic if you wouldn't mind...

Decided to get this tried the demo and loaded up 2015 just to checker if it ran smoothly on laptop and all seems okay. Dont think 2016 would be any different to 2015 performance wise.

Got it for £16 so cant complain really.

I'm trying to get 4-2-3-1 working but although I have good possession and really good build up play, I hardly create any chances? Having a go with your tactics. Do you have any specific player instructions?

Defensive forward - support - shoot more.
Inside forward - attack - shoot more x 2.

I try and use the full backs too :) good full backs go a long way in this years Football Manager.

What team are you? Who's in your squad?

Thinking of getting this, where did you find it for £16? Still £34.99 on Steam which is a bit over-priced, IMHO.

Also how do the match play graphics compare with the latest EA game?

Firstly, even at £34.99 it is brilliant value, if you want Sports Interactive to keep producing Football Manager games then pay them for it.

So far I have played over 700 hours, lets round that down to 700, and lets round £34.99 up to £35.

Football Manager works out at; £35.00/700 = £0.05 per hour, how is that not good value?

*spits*, you should be made to go live in the sea for even mentioning that terrible franchise.

I'll get the fire extinguisher...

Look I know the EA franchise spends more time worrying about how much you sell the Pukka pies for or whether you're spending enough on your (virtual) spouse, but the last version I bought (Fifa Manager 2011) had much better match graphics than FM. I know FM, formerly CM, has always been more about the stats but a reasonable match depiction is one of the "entertainment" aspects I look for, m'kay?

As regards price, well everyone has a perceived price they would pay for a particular game. If a new Flight sim came out tomorrow, I'd happily hand over £40 for it whereas others might not pay half that. So as it's on sale - somewhere - for £16 then it's Economics 101 not to pay more than you need to :).

If you want nice looking matches, and are not as bothered by statistics and the database, then FIFA?

I have 'only' converted to 3D match engines in this last couple of years, I'm a hardened veteran of the 2D engine.

I want to support the developers, as I want them to maintain their production of games I like.

Considering entertainment value vs. price I do not mind paying £40 for a game, I'm not going to search the bowls of the internet for a dodgy CD key site, or change my location to save £'s.

:).

Back on topic, I beat Liverpool 1:0 in the League Cup final :cool:, still top of the League and closing in on 100 league goals scored! Promotion is on the books :D.

Ok, I just purchased football manager 2016 Touch from steam. I am going to play on my laptop. My usual thing is to start with a non league team and try to get them promoted.

Has anyone tried the create your own team option? Just curious about how it works.

I always try a similar thing, team like Darlington or Lincoln to me is much more challenging trying to stay out the relegation zone, than just going in with one of the big Premier League sides.

Think I will definitely be getting this, once my current playthrough of FO4 completes.

I am liking the touch interface. I put the laptop in stand mode and works really well.

Just started with Wrexham :) Forecasted to finish in 11. Not much money but a decent enough squad. Will see how it goes.

Oops... :eek: (only says 'Today' as I double clicked instead of changing Steam view to see the hours..!)

Ah, I remember now why I got fed up with this game. Injuries are stupid. I am with Wrexham, haven't even played my first challenge game yet. In the space of a week I have 11 first team players injured, shortest injury is 4 months. Sorry, one is 5 weeks but I had to pay a specialist to get it reduced to that.

10 long term injuries!! and in a non league team. This is the annoying crap that made me quit the game a few years ago and it looks like it's still the same.

you must be unlucky or playing unfit players, pretty sure I've never had 11injuries at the same time in 700hours let alone all long terms.
