Forgot how bad job searching was :(

Actually...It's a telephone interview with the company all of a sudden...Also a 2nd Line job

waaaaaaaaaaaah

Consider it an opportunity. I'm beginning to think I'm the only one in this thread not getting offers...

Why do you jump jobs so often anyway? :p

...I don't.

I've been in this job 2 years come Summer?

Jobs before that have all gone bust / merged...Bad luck sadly

EDIT: Anyway, I can't live on 12k anymore, I physically can't budget any further :p

Any tips for a friend?
She moved here from Greece, mid 20's done a fair bit of office/admin type work but no UK experience so seems to be getting "dubious looks" as far as agencies go so far.
Re-tweaked the CV a fair bit.

She'd be up for (almost) anything. Shop work, office work, catering, waitressing etc.

Just need to work on the personal profile then or something...?

Delvis doesn't jump ship often. It's just every week he posts in this here thread about how he needs a new/better paying job. :p

Good luck delvis. :)

That's true, a min wage job wouldn't even cover the rent + bills for a basic, surburban one bedroom flat in a less than desirable location in the SE. It may still be worth staying in the vicinity of London, since if any recovery is going to take place the city will be where it begins.

Your posts suggested otherwise, my bad.

I've lived on less than that, on average, for the past few years. Seriously though, I'd jump at any decent job offer right now. I tire of temporary contracts and shelf filling...

Probably, as stated I post in here often. I made the thread and got advice from a lot of people back in 2009, so I like to contribute.

So have I matey, however life has changed and I can't live well on this. Hell, I'm having to move out of our new house and move in to a small annex next to the ladies parents house.

See my post just above yours. Oh, and congrats on the girlfriend, I don't remember you mentioning that. In-laws can be a pain, but it seems yours are very accommodating for a change.

Hah ta, three years come April

They can, but luckily we both get on well with them so there should be no issues :)

If there is...I'll lock the door to ours! :p

Speaking of annex, time to move home again - my landlady's selling up. Hopefully the place I have in mind will be a more sustainable arrangement...

Notice handed in today, I have long chats with both my manager and HR manager and they were both genuinely happy for me but at the same time sad to see me go.

I'll be phoning the new employer in a couple of days and tell them when I'd like to start, I plan on having a week gap to /whatever/ though :D

It's always nice to do that to be fair....if anything just to prepare yourself a bit

It's clear a double dip recession is happening.
Jobs are drying up and they're asking more for less- something that's already been debated here.

I'm utterly bored and skint and fed up with trawling job sites.
