Forgot how bad job searching was :(

God recruitment agencies are annoying. Some just won't take no for an answer and can be quite rude about it too. That's a soul-destroying job right there!

The salary is sensational (£11k) and it's a great opportunity that you SHOULD NOT MISS!

No you have to take it I have already told them you're looking like accepting.

What are the contact details of your current Manager?

What other companies have you applied to, just so we don't send your CV to them too.

Fun and games!!! :D

Still awaiting my offer to come through by email, spoke to the hiring person today who said they approved it in their system this morning so should be with me in a day or 2 :)

On holiday at the moment but will almost definitely be taking it as she let on what the offer was ;)

Was always fun when I was actively looking, I'd get calls from alright sounding jobs, then when it came to the salary it was always a reasonable amount less than I was on. Still, made it even easier to end the call :)

Damn what was that sig quote about? I have forgotten :(

Haha.

Something from the Palmersport Meet thread I think.

Even I can't remember but it did make me laugh at the time :D

It was fun at times.

When I took voluntary redundancy I had a few interiews at a local company (why not), but deep down knew I wanted to get into a proper Engineering field with prospects.

In the end I was the best candidate and they wanted to offer me the job. Recruitment agent to be fair was actually excellent; always called me when he said he would, chased up leads and possible jobs and was even a little understanding when I turned down the offer.

The offer was £2k less than the minimum salary specified, there was no progression within the company (and they suddenly kept telling me how much progression there was after I mentioned how important it was to me). But back to the money, it was the same wage and less benefits than what I started on as a fresh graduate out of uni 3 years before.

Stupid company!

agencies for me can go jump off a cliff, as i dont understand how they can get away with some of the tactics they do, besides the outright lies they spout on there adverts and initial phone conversations to the utter contempt they have for there own staffs well being.

but saying that when yoiu work for an agency the company you work at dont treat you any different as theres plenty more fish in the sea.

Line manager spoke with me yesterday just before I was about to leave. He was saying that if I was interested in a permanent role then we could get an interview arranged etc.

It's going to be a lot of hard work and not guarrenteed the job yet. Just need to show that I am willing to and want to learn more, increase my knowledge and gain experience to further my career with the company.

Though it would be so awesome if I were to go perm. :)

Nothing in the post, I'm about to go insane.

Is it worth emailing them again? Bare in mind I emailed last week after waiting 7 days or so just enquiring et al. Really don't want to seem like I'm nagging them and being pushy, just anxious to know if the job is all but mine!

Well job offer details came through today, almost certain I'll be taking it as it's a better job, better benefits, better salary (37% increase by my maths) and from speaking to various people in the industry at a company with a much better reputation/status.

Out of the country until next week though so can't do any of the paperwork until I get back.

Exciting stuff.
