Forgot how bad job searching was :(

Guys Always ask for a JOB trial that means they can take you on and trial you in the workplace for say a month they may decide after two weeks they want you.

Anyhow while they job trial you they have to take there advertisement for the job down.

Always ask for this :) employers who know about it will give you a chance and it always guarentees you some sort of chance of a job.

I know you found your job in a similar way, and well done. But as people have said before this isn't how it works in a lot of professional jobs.

I got my first summer job and shop job whilst at school by just asking though, the shop job there wasn't even a vacancy but they liked me so gave me a job. Worked there on and off throughout school and uni for 5 years.

I may aswell join this thread, been looking for design related jobs, applied for 2 today but there seems to be nothing going at the moment.

I'm severely depressed with it all. Having to take a year out because I ****** up at uni is finally hitting home and taking its toll. Completely run down.

Keep going mate, did you have any luck with that guy who was asking for freelance artwork?

Just applied for a new permanent job, so it's finally got my ball rolling on this.. sounds both interesting and with a chance to grow further.

Just a random to Shifty_UK - Every time i see a post of yours it always makes me want to watch Band of Brothers - Shifty Powers :P

Getting a new job has been hard as hell in the South East for me. Mainly as my CV is utter pants and the only experance i have is in Retail (Food) with no hope in hell of promotion. Even if i did become a Team Leader id get back stabbed and end up stopping the roll.

BUT i am going back to college 10w course to do more photography so i hope i can use this more and slowly venture out of my current job at 28yr i feel too old to be able to do anything :(

Went to an assessment centre for some xmas work for a retail company at weekend. Half the applicants were 16 and at school, the other half had degrees. It was a little surreal. Got a call from a technology manufacturer yesterday so I may have a graduate interview in the next 2 weeks at last.

Not having money still sucks.

Was searching for a job but had nothing for over a year (lack of qualifications+experience)... Broke my leg so didnt bother applying for any jobs for 2 months.. Got my cast off a few weeks back now so applied for a few jobs, got a telephone interview today so things are loooking goooooooood :)

Edit* Just got rejected by vodafone :(.

How about checking out Bristol? It's what, 60 miles away? Not too bad if there's a good job at the end of that journey :)

Yeah but there is a Severn Bridge in the middle which costs £90 ****** quid a month, and the commuting.

120 miles per day + £90 a month bridge means I'm going to want at least a £35K job (5K rise) in order to cover my costs... that sucks!

After 5 months out of work i have a job, also went for an interview today for a job i really want so things are looking up.

Not impossible though, higher wages in Bristol and more choice of roles :)

I got a call today from Rolls Royce saying I'd got an interview for something I applied for a while ago.

I've gone back to them asking for some more info as the job ad was pretty vague and gave no indication of salary bands.

Need to know what they are at least to save wasting an interview slot someone else could have and their/my time.

I had an interview last week and got a call back today saying I wasn't successful. I can take the rejection but the frustration is starting to get to me now. :(

I'm pretty nervous waiting to hear back from the telephone interview I had Monday, pretty much perfect job and probably won't get the opportunity again. I'm crossing everything...

Keep at it lads!!! Look everywhere, papers, shop windows, ask people, and recruitment fairs are always good as Original is doing.

It's hard, been there three time myself now since this all started back in 2008 =/

Hey Delvis, Masters of Hardcore?

I'm hoping to find a job before the end of September so I can do my Masters up here while I work! Not looking to good at the moment though but I'm hoping someone will take me on :)

Ahh best of luck to you, hopefully something comes along :(

Indeed!....No like? :p

Although, as you can guess my music tastes are reasonably random....considering I have a Metallica symbol on the same page ;)
