I work on LNG carriers, we’d be making up the difference.
Or we'd just burn more coal?
As people have stated it's more than 1%, that <1% was what was bought direct from Russia, it doesn't include the Russian gas resold to us by EU countries who have bought it from Russia (politics eh) or the LNG tanker shipments we get from Russia. To put in perspective how bad it would be if Russia ceased trading gas with us, last winter they had to divert additional gas supplies to us to prevent us from running out, I'm sure you can imagine how bad the consequences of the UK running out of gas in winter are.

<1% was directly imported from Russia and unless there is a secret pipe line you're aware of that no one else is then you'll find that that is LNG
so if Russia stops exporting gas to the UK then it affects less than 1% of our supply...
what relevance does gas we don't buy directly from Russia have here?
LNG tankers don't sail down pipes lol.
It is a big deal when people start dying because they can't heat their house, as would have happened last winter had Russia not diverted additional gas in order to meet out demand, on top of the much >1% we usually get from them.
Sorry just explain to me what you think is the issue here, imagine I'm 5 years old?
ref your edit: where is this "much >1% we get from them" - Russian gas via pipelines is less than 1% of imports let alone less than 1% of our total supply.
Only change now is we have imported some LNG from Russia - the stuff that comes on ships right? That can be bought from other countries and we didn't previously buy from Russia... Qatar is the major player here as far as we're concerned.

Cause I was thinking in work dont know if any of you have used those 2 part epoxy tubes that you poop in a little gun or push plunges on and it mixes the two hands in the tip before application
Well that would be a pretty good disguise for a 2 part poison and safe as mixed last miniute
But to a pair of junkies (seriously needles are free you'd need to be super desperate to use a needle you found) it's a old tube of glue they might be able to sniff?
Possibly touching or inhaling the mixed component.

I don't think it has been confirmed and I agree something like 2 part epoxy glue seems plausible (these glues often come in syringes). Drug dealers hide stashes so it wouldn't necessarily be unusual for some addicts to simply pick up/handle something that looked potentially interesting/drug related.
It's possible that it was discarded, and later found, elsewhere. One of the couple was known for skip-diving/bin-dipping, apparently.
I wouldn't say that, Remember how potent this stuff is. The LD50 for VX absorbed transdermally is 10 mg, the novichock agent is 5 to 10 times as potent. No one in there right minds would want to carry that around with them once it was opened/or after the binary agents were combined - accidental exposure happens in the best of environments which this obviously wouldn't of been. Depending where it was dropped how likely would it be for someone to discover afterwards, not very i'd guess if the right place was chosen.
I suspect Dawn came into contact with it, may of only touched rather than picked it up or moved it (as reports said it was only on one hand), and then later contaminated Charlie, that would explain the difference in effect and the gap between onset of symptoms. I'm not sure how likely it'll be that the police will find the item, it could take months if not longer, the only advantage the police have that I see is this stuff stays active for a long time (according to some sources others say the opposite). Hopefully it will be found before anyone else is exposed. As it isn't a death i'd wish on anyome no matter how much I hated them.
