They dont need people to transfer that information anymore, Phishing and hacking have pretty much emptied the US defence departments stores of information several times over, the Chinese got off with so much **** in the past few years, like stealing the F22 program information... then suddenly they had operational equivalents... what a surprise.

This whole thing is a big joke, the West wasn't ready for the digital movement and is paying for it, you're still thinking it's 1990, it's 2018 mate, the battlefield is incredibly broad.
 
I know they've acquired the previous version via Greece (or might have been Cyprus) or something IIRC but don't think they've got their hands on the 400 though some info has been leaked.

I think they want to avoid that entirely, yes the US/UK/France could wipe out most of the Russian forces and equipment in the region but putting Russia in a corner is a really bad idea... any non-nuclear country it could be the sort of thing that causes things to go downhill for the dictator in charge but best not to mess around too much when it is a nuclear power, even a small chance of that sort of thing is way too risky.

I think they likely to want to avoid Russian forces entirely, though obviously will perhaps need to respond if targeted by air defence systems or Russian planes and that is where things could get a bit heated/worrying.

First, Russia and China are military allies. Attack on one, the second will join. China declared so earlier this week again.
Second, there is no UN resolution to attack Syria, a sovereign nation. Any attack will be illegal under international law. So if Russia defends Syria and attacks the perpetrators, there is nothing to complain about.
And given the current rhetoric we are at the brink of dismantling UN. Already there are "calls" for "the west" to leave it. If so, I would like to remind you that Axis countries left LN because they didn't liked to be told whats right or wrong. (hence always saying that we became the very evil our grandfathers fought).

Third. Escalating to war with Russia, NATO has absolutely damn **** to hold the Russian army rolling through Europe.
Greece has bigger army than everyone else combined east of France for heaven sake. (and don't expect Turkey to do anything).

Fourth. Wake up. This is 2018. Russia is a capitalist country, and Putin politically is a Christian democrat. Similarly to Angela Merkel. The Russia communists are far less than the far left politicians in Britain.

So my advice to you. Be proactive. Learn Russian or Mandarin fast.
 
I saw today Russia was doing the usual BS routine and trying to say the UK was behind faking the chemical attack... just as they tried all sorts of conflicting narratives re the nerve agent attack in the UK... the thought did occur, if we were looking for conspiracies, that there might have been a UK link here... but namely just to expose the event... there have allegedly been quite a few chemical attacks in Syria, so if we want a conspiracy then a more plausible one than the UK faking it would perhaps be that the UK decided (especially after the Russian poising incident) that for the next one they'll make sure to get footage and make use of it.

The lack of reaction to Litvinenko perhaps allowed this recent poisoning to occur and the previous lack of action in Syria in 2013 allowed the further uses of chemical weapons to occur there... perhaps Putin might regret his actions a bit now as it has triggered a fairly big reaction so far.

They just gassed their own people... WTF does a UN resolution matter - not responding to it in 2013 was a massive mistake by the UK Parliament and Obama, responding to it now is the right thing to do

No they didn't. The video has only fooled the gullible. By the way, the OPCW team to investigate was due on site in Douma Saturday morning.

Aye, I'm half asleep though. obviously only reported after the event. Seems like a very minor strike on a few small targets, just enough to have ticked the "done something" box.
 
Waiting for Russian reports that the strikes were intentionally aimed at Russian soldiers in 3..2..1.

Even if the strikes were small, if the missiles hit home on chemical plants at least we've learnt that the Russian missile defense doesn't appear to be worth its salt.

US claiming more than 100 missiles used this time of which about a dozen were supposedly shot down by Syrian defences and none seemingly by Russian forces.

Russia has just released a statement saying not of their bases were attacked.

There was no attack on the areas controlled by Russia's defenses.
Of the 103 missiles launched, 71 were intercepted by the archaic Syrian air defense made of S-125, S-200 and Buk.

The attack was illegal mate. There is no UNSC mandate to attack, and nobody gave to US-UK-France the powers to attack any sovereign state as they see fit.

Btw do you remember all the fuss about Homs in Syria? The US has an airbase there now, stationing B1 Lancers........
Under which international law, USA can have an airbase in a sovereign country without it's consent? They didn't took it "magically".

If you read world history of the 1930s, you will find many similarities of our actions to the Axis countries. Especially Japan and Italy.
