I've noticed with some threads when I click the envelope it takes me to the first post instead of the last read. It looks to be related to how long ago it was posted on. The Diablo 4 thread in PC Games did it just now. Last post was 31st March. New post in the early hours of the morning and it took me to the first post.

I think this is caused by data not importing correctly during the forum changeover or maybe post ids changed or something like that.

I get the same problem on any threads where I last read them before the changeover. Any threads which I've read after the new forum went live work correctly. So it'll eventually fix itself as after a while there wont be any threads left which were last read pre-update.

I don't think this is the case as I'm up to speed and get this with new threads as well. Just randomly chucks me down to a post somewhere in the thread.

But then I'm on mobile and never use any clever buttons, just click the thread title text link. So not sure if it's exactly the same issue

I think that's a different issue.

The one i'm referring to is where you click the envelope showing unread posts in a thread and instead of taking you to the newest unread post it takes you to the first post in the thread (not just any post near the end, the very first post).

Yep. It's doing that because it correctly scrolls you to the first unread post then the images further up the page load and push the content down so you end up looking at an old post. If there's very large images or your connection is going slow you can see it happening sometimes.

Also annoying, but a separate problem to @CliffyG where it takes you to the first post in a thread.

Oh, then it sounds like we are having the opposite to each other - you get what I want when I click the title, and I get what you want when clicking the envelope

Actually, this is wrong.
It does seem to be related to the age of the posts but it has happened to me on threads which were created after the new forum update.

Browsing the forum on my iPhone 12 with safari and it often hangs or gets stuck loading whenever there are links, or embedded videos etc (Least it seems to be linked to that sort of content)
I use AdGuard, but I’ve turned it off for this site.
Resolves itself after a minute or two, or you have to close the window and start a new session.

Anyone else getting this?

This is what I meant from the other day. Happens more often than not now, really getting annoying.
Notice the thin loading bar, it sticks there for at least a minute before correcting itself and loading the rest. If you go back a page, a second or two later it diverts back to the page that was loading, and still hangs. All while not loading the page anyway.
Any ideas? Never had issues before the update.

Could some (smilies for example) of the buttons in the overflow menu be moved out to the main toolbar with the bold and italic options? Seems daft having so much free space and having to click the dots to find the smilies and quote buttons.

Cheers. Seems a bit odd. I can understand the restriction for posting, but not sure what it achieves by preventing people reading posts. (Apart from possibly reducing blood pressure )

What's happened to the quote button, when posting? There is a button which has a picture of quotes, but it says "Multi" when you hover over it. I have to type the [QUOTE] [/QUOTE] codes manually now.

Just use Reply it does the same as the old quote.

i think it helps stop trolls/those who don't know the way the forum working, from jumping in a speakers corner thread and then bringing it down.

Indeed, iPhone 12 (Pro Max) and Safari. Latest version of iOS 15.5.

What if I wanted to quote a few paragraphs of text? I would have to do as I have done recently and insert the QUOTE code manually. Unless I am missing the reply button on the text editor.
