*** Forum Update - Official Issues Thread - Please check the OP for known issues ***

I've noticed recently that I sometimes encounter an "oops" page saying there's a security error. It happens on phone and PC. I am trying to reproduce it now to copy and paste the wording but of course no joy.

It has happened when I click the notification bell and also when I have searched for a keyword in thread titles.

This will usually be due to a client side change, such as IP or cookies timing out while the site is open. XenForo 2 has cross site forgery request protection built in and this error usually means it isnt happy with something so prevents the action happening, refreshing the page will allow all the relevant bits to update and work as normal.

Easy way to reproduce: open forums on your phone, leave the screen locked for an hour or two, come back and try to navigate to notification menu without refreshing. Happens to me all the time because I leave forums as my main page to pick up later.

I would say that is expected behaviour. I always do a refresh of the web page as otherwise cookies etc time out.

I get an issue after marking forums read, when I come back say half an hour later the OcUK logos down the list of forums on the front page show as white (no unread posts) but when I click into a forum there are new posts (envelopes show correctly).

This is on iPhone (iOS / Safari).

Are they actually new posts or just threads you havent read?

Is it intentional that I can't edit formatting in a quote e.g. can't embolden some text if quoting another user's post?

Mobile site; chrome on Samsung Galaxy S9.

You certainly can on the desktop site (see above where I've bolded your text). Is it because of this?

- Visual - In the rich text editor, if you highlight text, it's only visible in blue and alternate modes, it's effectively invisible in dark and green modes. See here and here.

been getting this a lot with the ukraine thread.

think it's loading embedded tweets after it's scrolled to the first unread post, then the tweets load pushing you up the page.

doesn't seem to happen on other threads that aren't so heavy on the embedded content.

Just to comment on this, I've noticed it for a while too and attributed it to images & tweets loading (it was even worse in the watch thread just now).

One thing to add to this that I did find frustrating was that even if you wait for the entire page to reload, if you click on a quote (of say a post further up that same page) the forum still reloads the entire page and you get the same issue again.

I was kinda hoping that, sure, the initial loading of images/tweets might be an annoyance to put up with for a bit but waiting a few seconds for them to load and then clicking on the quote/link might solve it but... nope lol.

I'm I being thick here (probably) but on my phone app or through web browser, the icons for bolt/italic/link picture etc are greyed out?

I didn't change anything as far as I am aware and seem to work fine on desktop PC.
