Forza 2: No AA in final version

Like the AI in this forza Demo?? :p

I stopped playing GT after GT3, so unless GT4 had a huge AI improvement, the AI in this demo hands down beats the living daylights outta GT AI.

Off topic now.

There is only hero called Nakamura, the other is just an actor. :p

You accept that GT:HD is better graphically than Forza 2 though?
I have not played Forza 2, so I cannot comment on it graphically, but...
graphically GT:HD looked like a slightly enhanced PS2 game (which it was), and it's lack of real time shadowing is criminal. Personally I thought GT:HD looked a little naff.

I think the colour pallette of Gran Turismo leads it to 'look' more realistic, graphically though Forza 2 (from video footage) looks better, it's just a different stylization.

Such as?

So why did (for example) Max Payne on my Athlno 600mhz, 128mb RAM and GeForce 2 absolutely blow away the Playstation2 and Xbox versions graphically?
It did? I haven't played it on a console but from pics and reviews it was said to be as good as a high-end PC at the time.

Because this is the first generation of which consoles ARE direct competition to PC's.
I do not accept that :) It sounds like marketing spiel to me.

You can't have your cake and eat it, you say games should be running at 60fps and when they don't complain. When a game finally does run at 60fps you complain because graphically, it's not as good as the other games.
When previous gen consoles had superb graphics and framerate then yes, I do think that on vastly faster hardware I have every right to expect the same.

Duno about the Xbox version but the PS2 version was horiffic.

p.s sorry thought you were on about MP2 my mistake :p MP1 suffered from a slow framerate on the PS2 but didnt look that bad, no where near as good as the PC version tho.

I had it on the Xbox and it wasn't great.

It's not marketing spiel, I have never seen or heard avid PC gamers so interested in console games, or so concerned that their PC's are being outperformed.

Compared to now though, previous generation graphics had bad graphics. The leap from last generation to this generation, graphically, is much higher than I think anyone could have anticipated, certainly from what is required to create said graphics.
I don't think you are fully aware of what it takes or what goes into games.

Max Payne 2 was even worse, but the generation of PC's in fairness had moved on and I played it on a 5-series GeForce.

But Skullman is correct, my friend had the PS2 version of Max Payne (1) and it was godawful, but you would expect it to look worse to the more powerful Xbox version, so I didn't mention it. However the Xbox version was also vastly inferior to the PC running on a similar specification.

Re: the previous gen consoles I thought they all had great graphics etc, but when you shove it into a 50" TV and compare it to 360 games running in HD the differences are huge and the older consoles/games really look their age - of course with the classics you soon forget (I still play NFL Blitz on the PSOne!) but the difference really is massively noticeable :)

Any non-HD source looks abysmal on an HDTV, especially a large one.

That why the keep crashing into me and each other because 'That's my racing line'?

Not noticed anything like that. If I dive to the inside line for a corner they even give me a bit of room. Its not perfect by any means, but its leagues above GT.

GT:HD better looking that Forza 2? You make me laugh
GT:HD's environment is incredibly bland, with a fraction of the geometry on display in Forza 2.

Forza 2 is about what I expected from the 360, developers are still on their first attempts at games on these consoles.
It's not perfect, the visual effects could be improved and AA could be better, although I don't notice it much when playing from the bonnet cam, I think the rear view highlights the problem. The car models could be improved a bit too, there's a few areas with poor mesh flow and possibly poor stepping but then PGR3 has some more obvious problems on some cars.

I thought that's what the general consensus was, yes... which for a virtual tech demo on a new platform, versus a full retail game on an 18 month old platform, is quite a damning indictment.

Exactly you should be outraged!! You should be on your moral high horse!! look at the abuse Sony took for lying to you and you didnt even care about the PS3, This is your most anticipated title of like forever, you should be going postal right now!! Oh but it's ok they only had 2 years to develop it!

Personally i think the graphics are very sub par, as for the game, i will wait till i play it, but i dont think i will play it for long, as i will probably banish to to a corner when MS try to rape me for DLC

And to be fair, if this is what GT5 has as its competition, then i dont think Yamauchi San has much to worry about.

You will see me criticise the game when i get to play it properly and its released, i just dont critices it through itse entire development and every screenshot posted. Besides someting like graphics to one person is pap and to the other is pretty good, either way if the game plays well i will play it plenty.

Yeah im looking forward to GT5 too but whens that coming, oh wait is their even a screenshot of it yet. Last i heard we wont know much about the title untill the Tokoyo Car show.

If you plug an Xbox360 or PS3 into an SDTV you can still see there is a large leap (allbeit not the leap you see if you go upto HDTV).

I've only seen you stating that tbh.

So you've not played the Forza 2 demo and don't even own a 360, yet you feel the need to come in and wind everyone up about how poor the games look?
Bonkers logic. I guess you've got bored of all the gaming you've done and now resort to getting your kicks from baiting everyone.
Games are there to be enjoyed, why don't you step away from the PC and play some of the old games you're constantly saying have achieved perfection.
