Forza Motorsport (10/10/23)

Well, that's the most fun I've had in a long time online.

Just did my first multiplayer race at Laguna Seca, finished 5th out of ten, what a hoot!

Love the collision system, wish they had something similar in FH5 to stop the mutts crashing into you at every opportunity without penalties.

Happy now that I've set everything to max including RT, (bar motion blur) at 3440x1440, Quality DLSS, limited to 60FPS, and my 3080 Ti manages that easily, good frametimes and no stutter.

Main reason I set it to 60FPS and not limited, is that I noticed when racing at Laguna Seca, at the corkscrrew there was noticeable judder even though the framerate was around 70, and with good frametimes.

That judder has gone with it set at 60.

Looking forward to this getting patched.

Anyone experiencing the track textures disappearing? Only seems to do this when doing multiple lap attempts... this ruined me breaking the top 5 last night on rivals!

Only problem like that i've seen is during a foggy race, track textures in my rear view mirror disappeared, leaving the following cars floating about in a white haze.

Haven't done that many yet, will give it a go today.

Talking about laps, how bad is that you can't designate how many laps in a race, you do three practice laps, and then only have a four lap race.

Turn10 need to address this in a future patch.

Agreed, it's a tough task to catch the AI on max difficulty with only a few laps. Only way to get the message across is to submit feedback for this to be implemented.

On the PC I seem to be getting random issues where I'm using a controller to play and if I'm in a constant turn the car\wheel will jerk the other way for a split second causing it to lose control, all assists are off with the settings the same as the xbox, and don't get it on the xbox. I have tried with a 8bitdo and xbox controller. Doesn't seem to be a controller issue so hopefully a patch may help

Very very much enjoying this now, finding myself playing it more on my Series S with performance 60fps mode as the PC looks beautiful vs. It but there are some real bizarre performance issues and a few game bugs

Few issues I have seen so far

- No HUD, have to restart the game and all is fine
- not saving progress between completing practice and the following race
- performance issues where it's butter smooth as 60fps vsync but on 2 corners of a track it bombs to 40fps then suddenly goes back through the roof. Good example for me is Catalunya.
- Not saving GFX settings

I can only assume us "lucky" early access folks are helping to sculpt the day one patch. Hey I am ok with that!

I was doing a free race on Laguna the other day and half the track disappeared, also seen a few instances of objects not full loading on track.

I seem to be loosing rating points for safety, even thou i think im being really careful, and not had red penalty points come up on my times, I'm slow thou, i don't get near the podium, do you have to get in top 3 like to move up the ratings ? thx

Just in case anyone has other controller issues, I had the above and in the menus the controller keys would swap to and from keyboard to controller, it was because I had my rudder pedals plugged in. Once unplugged controls were a lot smoother

This is encouraging. I'm happy to run without RT so I'm guessing I should be able to get a reasonably solid 60fps without RT at a native 4K res (5800X3D + 6800XT).
