Fuel up/down again

It's a thread about petrol prices. You replied to post asking about how the high petrol prices were affecting people.

You told us you had to take a £6 an hour job because of petrol prices, got a load of confused replies, then you later told us actually it wasnt so much the petrol price, more your work life balance, how boring you found office work, and so on and so forth. ie things completely unrelated to either petrol prices or motoring!

The fact you continue to be suprised just astounds me.

Sorry but it still doesnt add up. How many actual engineering jobs only pay £22k anyway? How many engineers would be happy to work in a factory for 6 quid an hour? Thats 10k a year!

I don't know any qualified engineers with 12 years experience who only earn £22k.

I just dont understand why you'd tell us about your job woes in a petrol price thread, blame it all on petrol prices, then when we go 'eh?' you have a whinge and say it wasnt really just the petrol

you are 100% correct, my mistake i will not post such rubbish in the future. Sorry to all for the confusion for my off topic post and i shall try my hardest to either stay away from things beyond my mathmatical ability or try and learn before i type such pap.

ps can i post my sorrow in a non sorrow thread?

Thats it, make yourself look hard done by.

You came into a petrol thread to whinge that petrol prices ruined your job seeking opportunities. If you dont like the reaction that gets, dont post it.

Well I am now actually REALLY looking forward to getting my 1.6 diesel company car :p

Focus or Golf? (Both standard I assume, which one comes with the most stuff/is the better car?) :)

But what else was anyone supposed to think?

All that anyone could have garnered from your original post was that you wanted to earn £10,000 less to save on £1000 of fuel, which , i think you will agree, is nonsensical.

you just want to argue about anything dont you. im trying to leave this alone, even with my tail between my legs (even if i feel my posts are fine) to stop the thread turning into rubbish, something you say you want too. You are right, i was wrong. There ive done it without any sound of sarcasm attached.

Regards Andy

Dont worry its probably all my fault :p

Petrol is getting scarily expensive now for sure, I filled up last night, at 1,29.99 a litre, costs me over 100 pounds now to fill up if my fuel light is on.

Not sure if this has been posted, but there is talks of a petrol tanker driver strike.... great timing, people will panic buy and fuel will rise AGAIN.

Thousands of petrol and oil tanker drivers may take industrial action in a row over pay, pensions and working conditions, it has emerged.

Petrol delivery tankers sit idle in a locked compound at the Stanlow refinery in Cheshire, September 2000.

Shell tanker drivers took industrial action over pay in 2008

Unite union has warned oil industry bosses to "take their heads out of the sand and realise that the constant attack on tanker drivers' terms and conditions must stop".

Representatives have agreed to ballot members, saying that voting would likely begin next month.

A strike could disrupt supplies and push up the cost of fuel.

Filled a Muslanne up from running on fumes to the brim today. 89L of Sainsbury's finest coming to a grand total of £115.69 .

What I did find impressive was the trip computer claimed a range of 360 miles which works out at 18MPG. Not too bad for a 6.75L twin turbo pushrod V8 which I believe is used mostly for town driving :).
